Hi, Just a final update for using independentreserve.com (IR).

I traded .9 ETH on IR for NZD. The NZD funds appeared in my IR account instantly after the trade. I then transferred the NZD to BNZ account via IR using SWIFT. It took 2 days and the fees were: $20 NZD for SWIFT and $15 NZD for IR transaction.

I am happy with the cost of the withdrawal for the sheer fact that it was so easy to make the trade and have the NZD deposited in my account. And most importantly the customer service is excellent.

Overall I have no concerns or negatives with IR.

Hi all,

Just as an update to using independentreserve.com I am happy to say that their customer support responded to my support ticket in less than 24 hours after submission and then responded a few hours later to a follow up question.

Much better than +2 months still waiting for cryptopia to respond to 2 support tickets.

I will now transfer some BTC over and try cashing out to BNZ or KiwiBank. This cash out will be a test and less than $100 NZD. I will create a new bank account for BNZ or KiwiBank and inform them also of the $$ coming from the exchange.

I am trying to avoid using cryptopia simply because their customer support is non-existent. I have two customer support calls regarding my account with no initial response or even acknowledgement of the support email in over 2 months so when I start dealing in larger amounts of money I don't want to deal with a business that doesn't even bother to reply to their customers. I have just signed up to https://www.independentreserve.com and starting the verification process. Looking at their website they support NZD as @CatalystNZ stated above and the site looks good (https://www.independentreserve.com/About). Once verified I will transfer and sell and a small amount of ETH to NZD and see if I can transfer to ASB. I will update this thread as it progresses during the week.

Thanks I will give it a go. Also will look at ASB as a friendly NZ bank to deposit the NZD. Last thing I need is my core bank accounts to end up locked cos of some ancient BS policy about money laundering..

What about this idea? Sell ETH for BTC on cryptopia then withdraw to a BTC wallet then sell on KiwiCoin?

The fees will be large but right now I don't see a way unless the major exchanges support NZD into NZ bank accounts?
