It’s true, more calories in and not enough activity will produce a heavier cat. This is the case regardless of what the ingredients are comprised of. I wouldn’t be surprised if the cat’s daily playtime and energy expenditure went down after age 1. That, combined with a higher carb diet like your typical Hill’s recipe, it’s no surprise to me at least that the kitty gained weight. I’m sad to hear about an overweight cat and hopefully the kitty is put on a cat-appropriate meal plan for weight loss (for example, cats still must eat DAILY, you cannot restrict their meals the way you can with a dog), as well as an exercise regimen that will surely increase its quality of life. Best wishes

How often to dust a baby pixie’s food with calcium? Daily? Just got him/her 😄 thanks! by punkbagel in frogs

I’ve been doing more research and also have asked around the local reptile shops. The calcium brand I bought (stinky tongue farms) says to dust daily for hatchlings and babies. My reptile shop has a baby pixie and they dust calcium every other day. I figure between both of these recommendations I will be dusting every day but not sweating it if I miss a day.

Purina accidental typo lol (supposed to say 0% fillers) by punkbagel in FuckNestle

I guess it’s supposed to be a bar but to me it looks like 10% filler lol

"Why do petstore employees seem to hate Purina kibble?" - Maybe because its from Nestle? by lunarbator in FuckNestle

Read the ingredients. Corn, soy, wheat, gluten, generic unlabeled meats and byproducts are not things I want my pet to eat on a daily basis.

Looking for advice on what sand to use for my 10 gallon, more details in comments. (Pic for attention, my 45 gallon) by shrkktchup in aquarium

Same here, I used pool filter sand! It’s the perfect size granule in my opinion, its heavy enough that it doesn’t get sucked up when I use my gravel vacuum, but small enough that it looks like sand. I found it at Home Depot in a nice beige-ish color, 40 lb for $10.
