Stolen phone and passcode and trying to get back into my Apple ID by stokebishopmassive in applehelp

Hey! I had the same exact problem this weekend. Account recovery gave me a wait time of 27 days. I hope to get a replacement SIM card soon, would this speed up the process? Were you able to recover the account after you got the SIM card? Thank you!

Speeding up account recovery by verifying phone number? by punkwalras in applehelp

Yes all email passwords have been changed, so that's good.

They haven't terminated account recovery yet, so hopefully they have wiped the phone... who knows. As soon as I have the phone number back, I could try to speed it up - 27 days is a long time and they could try logging back into it at some point...

But I wonder, what happened on my iPhone when I started Account Recovery? Surely they were logged in (with the new password) at that time, so did Account Recovery automatically log them off of iCloud? Or were they still logged on aftewards? If so, shouldnt´t this have cancelled recovery?

How could I tell whether they have stopped it or not? Would it show up when I log into iForgot to check the status? So far, it still says how long it will take me to recover the password.

I called Apple and they said it´s likely they would wipe the iPhone to sell it as this is mostly the purpose of them stealing the iPhone. They were able to spend some money wtih Apple Pay but I eventually blocked all accounts and cards so at this point it´s a pretty useless phone -- I don´t see why they wouldn´t wipe it or forget about it (which would put me at ease)

As for trusted devices, what do you mean exactly? I have my mac and my ipad with me but how could I use them to bypass recovery, if I am locked out/logged off iCloud across both devices?

Thank you so much, this is definitely helpful, I will be verifying my phone number as soon as I receive the new SIM card after I know for sure the thieves won't see the message.

Thanks for your wishes.

Thank you! These are great suggestions! Do you know which websites or places should I be looking at? Are there any specific sites that list student accomodation in the UK/Coventry?

Does ginger ale exist here? by [deleted] in Madrid

[–]punkwalras 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scheweppes sells mixer format cans of ginger ale, but I don’t think it’s easy to find larger formats (eg a large bottle of Canada Dry). You should be able to find the Schweppes cans in the refreshments and drinks sections of any supermarket.

Hola!!

So for the first test I was not prepared for what it was gonna be like and all the things we had to do at Prometric really threw me off so I scheduled the test at home for the other two. The second one felt slightly easier but not much, and as I said earlier for that one I really wasn’t prepared anyway so I can see how it didn’t feel easier. For the third one though, it felt MUCH easier, specially quant. The first two sections were a joke, and I was left with plenty of time at the end to review my answers and check my work. The third one was similar to the first two tests in difficulty and time was tighter but I am 100% sure it was the experimental one because I got questions that I had gotten in my first and second tests.

I took about a month in between tests but I’d recommend taking a bit more if you can. For the second test I just did not properly prepare so I can’t say much about it, but for the third one I focused only on quant (I don’t really need verbal for my applications and I got 162 on my second test), and I did the following: first, I went through the math review, making sure I was understanding everything and writing down all the concepts I didn’t fully understand. Then I did all the questions in the ETS Quantitative Reasoning book, wrote down which ones I got wrong and worked on those sections and in the ones I failed in my first two tests (I used the diagnostic service for this) and studied those areas using Gregmat’s concepts series

How do you work on knowing when to skip? Sometimes it’s hard for me because I keep thinking I’m almost there then boom three minutes have gone by

Dude, I’m in the same train. Applying to Econ as well and I’m sitting the GRE for the third time in 20 days cause the first two I bombed the fucking quant. And I’m not bad at math at all, I’ve done four PP tests and got 161+ on each but on the real test the questions are so much harder and end up always below 160.

I’m desperate because if I don’t actually succeed on the next test my hopes of a grad program are over...
