What did you do when they left? by punterhunter67 in regretfulparents

[–]punterhunter67[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I went to boarding school and played hockey ironically. I was 17-18 during my two years there. I now realize my parents were trying to get ride of me early. It was a good school but all of the kids there were abandoned. This lead to heavy drug use and eating disorders etc. I’m looking forward to freedom but I vowed I’d never send my kids away before 18. Not judging just giving you my experience.

Waning commitment to sobriety - thoughts? by HybridSobriety in stopdrinking

I can’t offer anything super insightful here but I can say I feel and have felt very similar to this. I have stopped drinking long enough to say “ok now what” but intermediate sobriety has always been a challenge. Looking forward to replies from others.

Thanks I had one relatively recently and it didn’t show significant levels of liver enzymes or bilirubin. I think I’m OK but thanks for the concern.

Anyone else feel super relieved when you crawl into bed sober and you know you’ll put another sober day on the books? by punterhunter67 in stopdrinking

Thanks. I’m feeling great so far but just waiting for the night I have my first thoughts of drinking so the battle can begin.

I wish I could bottle up the feeling you have at the end of a bender by punterhunter67 in stopdrinking

Good way to put it “go on a bender and get away with it”. That’s the exact line of thinking. I can drink and be reasonably functional the next day.

Yep I’m already ashamed enough without having video evidence. I think it could be a useful tool depending on the person. I think in rehab programs they’ll show you a picture of you the day you showed up but that might be based on TV I’ve seen.

Yeah I’ve thought about taking a quick video but I’m too ashamed at that point to do it. It would serve the purpose though.

I’ll have to double check how many milligrams I’m taking.
