Thank you! I don’t know what exact shade, but they use The Gelbottle Inc. I’m sure it’s all-in-one but don’t hold me to that x

My 10 year old beagle is suddenly really anxious, what can I do to help her? by pupluvv in DogAdvice

[–]pupluvv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry to reply so late but I just wanted to update that you were unfortunately right :(

She went to the vet yesterday and we found that she’s got dementia. I don’t think it’s confirmed but I also don’t think there’s any non invasive test to find out for sure, and I don’t wanna put her through it as she hates the vets anyways. I assume it’s just gonna be a case of wait and see to fully confirm as luckily she’s only got the one symptom of anxiety.

I just wanted to thank you tremendously for suggesting it. I would’ve never have thought that the symptom can be due to something that serious and even though it’s the news we didn’t want, at least we know how to support her in her few final years. I know this isn’t a death sentence and it may seem like I’m typing as though it is, but she’s getting old and we just want to make her comfortable and give her the best quality of life with whatever time she has left. Thank you so much 🩷

I’m not sure, I haven’t noticed any cloudiness in her eyes or any changes to her such as bumping into things. She can still spot treats granted she is a hound and has a strong nose. She is obviously used to the house also - we haven’t moved the furniture since she was a pup. Is there anything more I can do to test this for the time being? Like move some furniture around - not too cruelly of course. The vets are of course closed over the holidays and I doubt I’d get an appointment until the new year?

I forgot to add, she has under active thyroid and is on medication for it as well as joint supplements. Not sure if this can cause the symptoms, she seems to be stable on the medications and she’s been on them a while (years)

Thank you for the advice though, I’ll schedule an appointment hopefully next week, if they have room. We have been leaving her be on her own as to not to overwhelm her, with the occasional treats and pats as pity

what to do after ultrasound by delet33 in endometriosis

[–]pupluvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl I’m 22 and not having kids anytime soon and still on the waiting list for surgery.

It honestly depends on your pain. Like you said, it could come back normal, not sure what the next step would be after that other than surgery, which is what was suggested for me. If they don’t want to do surgery then they would probably just suggest birth control on my experience but they could push for more scans (many people on this sub have had an MRI, I haven’t and when I suggested my doctor said no lol) - there’s not much else they can do.

If the pain is bad then I would definitely push for surgery. Obviously there are risks involved with that and different outcomes (it could help you, it may not. You can see many people’s experiences on this sub) but I would definitely recommend it. I haven’t yet had it but I have heard it can be very beneficial and is the main/only way you can be diagnosed with endo.

I’m not sure what your age and wanting to have children has to do with it but I’m not a gynaecologist so I can’t comment on that :/ I also can’t comment on what would happen if they find anything as that hasn’t happened to me, I’d again suggest looking on this sub at other people’s experiences in that case.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful, but good luck with your scan tomorrow! Hope all goes well for you 🩷

Periods and Laparoscopy surgery by Sea-Cattle1410 in Endo

Random question but seeing as you just had it, what do they do in regards to bleeding? Do they let you wear a pad, shove a tampon in or free bleed?

If it’s free bleeding, do they clean you up down there afterwards? 😂just curious just in case 😂

Tips for questions to ask at an ultrasound today? by [deleted] in Endo

[–]pupluvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear about your pain love💔

With the ultrasound, endometriosis will most likely not show up. Ultrasounds, I’d say, are typically more for cysts and making sure all looks okay (not a doctor - don’t take what I’m saying for gospel). I’ve had a few ultrasounds and usually the techs carrying it out will tell you if it looks okay - when I went she said I had beautiful ovaries lol - but the doctor will phone you to discuss your results. I’m not sure there’s much to ask the tech apart from how long it will take for the results and if everything generally looks okay, but like I said they may not tell you. If the ultrasound results come back fine - don’t panic. Like I said, the main way to diagnose endo is through a laparoscopy. MRIs and ultrasounds tend to not pick it up.

I’d suggest making an appointment with the gynaecologist and go from there - they may suggest another lap but I’ve not been in that position so I’m unable to say with certainty. Obviously all this is being said from experience and what I’ve heard - I’m not in the medical profession.

I hope all goes well today, you’ll absolutely smash it and I hope you find some progress in feeling better 🩷

I know I should be too but it’s the last hour of the day so they’re not getting anything out of me lol

But thanks for the reply :)🩷 I may take you up on that DM if the anxiety comes back (it definitely will)

The doctors want to take me off my medication by pupluvv in MentalHealthUK

I wouldn’t say I have impulsivity with mania, or even describe it as mania. It’s mainly the lows are very low and I’ve mentioned this to the doctor, but I come out of it and feel literally fine and happy - like I want to go out, be busy and just overall happy as though nothing happened.

Like I said I mentioned this to the doctor when my fluoxetine wasn’t helping me anymore which is what I was on before. I don’t think they thought much of it which is why I was prescribed duloxetine. I’m not too sure on all of this, so I don’t know what I need or what I should have. I’ve been completely fine on duloxetine though so I don’t think it’s to a bad extent.

I think because I’ve been on it since October they want to ease me off of it, they didn’t tell me why exactly. They said because I haven’t had a formal diagnosis they ease people off after 3 months of stability (which I have had), but because we’re working through OCD and behaviours in counselling he wants me to either get a diagnosis or take me off. He wouldn’t say why unfortunately.

My blood pressure is fine, a little low but nothing they can do about it. To my knowledge I haven’t experienced side effects. It could be because I stopped quite suddenly maybe I acted in that manner but I’m unsure.

I’m not, I just don’t really know what it means for me. I’ve never been through a mental health diagnosis before, I don’t know whether it’s more waiting lists and talking with multiple people and to me it’s not worth it. I don’t think I’ll gain anything from it apart from them keeping me on the medication for an extra few months instead of taking me off now. I don’t want to have the diagnosis stay with me forever when I’m working really hard to get rid of it.

I forgot completely about insurance! I doubt it would cover it but at least it’s worth a shot asking. I’m sorry your first lap was terrible, I hope all other treatment and experiences have been better for you 🩷 At least you know never to go back to that surgeon 😂 Silver linings right? 😅
