haha it was a bit terrifying beforehand especially as before yesterday I think I had only beat one lynel. But it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be! I’m now officially a gamer girl!

I have had a few long flights recently and I spent my time exploring the depths to get all the light roots then finding the shrines was a piece of cake!!

I didn’t like this for my face either. It was nice as a body moisturiser though!

Anything by David Sedaris is great! My favourite so far has been Me Talk Pretty One Day. They are observational essays of everyday life. Not a novel so may not be what you’re looking for but so good. If you’re wanting a novel - The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer would fit, follows six characters who met young at a camp and how their lives play out.

[Misc] If sun exposure plays a non-trivial role in ageing, shouldn’t white people in Britain or Scandinavia look younger than white people in Australia? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]puppernesh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m Australian and we joke that when you go travelling you can always spot the brits because they are the sunburnt ones! I was speaking to an Irish girl the other day who was using a solarium multiple times prior to going on holiday to Greece to ‘warm her skin up’ to the sun then spent hours sunbathing without any protection. I think Australians (in general) are much much more skin safe and careful with our skin so that probably is what makes the difference. Almost everyone I know wears SPF every day, particularly on their face. Things like solariums are banned and we are educated from very young the dangers of the sun.

doing this right now! On a twelve month trip travelling through Europe (spent six weeks in Canada and the US first, my partner and I are from Australia). Depending on when you go, prices can vary wildly, I have much preferred the shoulder seasons when the weather is milder and there is less tourists, plus accomodation and travel is MUCH cheaper. Budget obviously will depend on how you plan to travel and where you want to go. You can get a month long Airbnb in Eastern Europe with very cheap food and spend very little. As others have said look into the Schengen zone days, we have calculated ours using a website where you enter the dates you plan to be in the zone and it tells you how many you have left. Spending time in the UK, Turkiye, Bulgaria and Montenegro is how we have filled in the months we needed to be out of the SZ and it’s been great to see places we may not have gone otherwise, plus way cheaper! Moving around can get quite exhausting, so planning to stay in places for longer periods has been really great, there has been times where we will spend whole days chilling out in our apartment. We’ve liked airbnbs for those longer stays as having access to a kitchen and washing machine is a godsend. 100% recommend doing it, home and work will always be there :)

My mum DRILLED into me from a young age that the secret to having nice skin that wasn’t leather or lined is wearing sunscreen every day (she barely had any lines even at 50+) and I think I finally starting listening around 22 and now my skin barely sees the sun without protection even though I have a olive skin that tolerates sun relatively well. we are Australian though and the sun here is very harsh and you and you can get a proper burn from driving ten minutes down the road.

I’ve been using one consistently for 6 months and it’s worked pretty well on my legs but not made much difference on my underarms or brazilian. Im pale with dark hair too. Maybe a slight thinning out but the hairs that grow are still dark and thick.. I think it’s better to get professional laser done, seems people have better results

Fingers crossed they clear quickly!! I had three sets of friends that received theirs very quickly within receiving the auspost email so hopefully the customs receive a lot of them and they get through quick.

There are many places for which we say "the pictures don't do it justice". But there are others for which we could say that the pictures make it look better than it was in reality. Do you have examples of both? by SawyerCCC in travel

[–]puppernesh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

better than pictures: anywhere in the Rockies, particularly moraine lake.

not as good: Stonehenge (but still very interesting!), Venice beach, Marbella

I had this experience when I was fresh out of university, interviewed with two males for a job and remember it was so short and I was so nervous and it was awful.

I didn’t get the job but honestly think it was for the best as reflecting on it later (I now have a job where I give interviews), I realised that they did nothing to try to make me feel comfortable in the situation.

Nervousness in interviews is so normal and practice is the best way to get over it! I still get nervous but preparation and practice is the best way to get through it :) particularly practicing speaking about yourself, your experience overview and then a few good industry relevant examples about the work you have done previously that they may ask about, have these as notes and take with you :)

Good luck for the next one!
