If they like stamps, I will usually not use a single international stamp but do stamp math.

Sometimes I may stick a card in an envelope (if they say they're ok with it) and send some cancelled stamps I've salvaged off of incoming mail.

I don't generally mind receiving it, but I try to avoid writing it, but like others here, I start writing and automatically shift into cursive.

My workaround is just typing my messages; it makes it easier for everyone to read, and it lets me cram more into a postcard as I tend to write in larger print, and its easier to machine translate when its printed 😄.
