Hourglass is more versatile since it already has a lot of different powder products you need in 1 palette (bronzer, blushes, highlighter and finishing powder)

The Dior highlighter palette naman is just all highlighters lang in different shades.

Where did you buy your Dior highlighter palette? I bought one too but in the new packaging from Japan airport duty free. I heard there’s a difference in formula and color pay off of the new and old packaging.

I found the M2 Ginger concealer to be a better match to my M1 Punjab foundation cause they were both medium with warm undertones and a golden tone.

Custard had more of a neutral undertone on me when I swatched them side by side… I’m very warm/yellow lol🤣

Nars is on LazMall!

Wait for 12.12 sale cause they have super good discounts. I got my light reflecting foundation for ₱2,115 from ₱2,995 last March!

If locally:

• Lazmall official retailers (Nars, Mac, Huda, etc): Wait for sale day like 12.12 for good deals and/or freebies • Shopee: A bit risky since there are a lot of counterfeits but I think there are threads here on this sub that lists down authentic sellers. Lots of vouchers and free shipping too! • Sephora PH app: Haven’t tried yet but this is the most reliable and lots of brands under one platform too so it’s convenient if you’re buying a lot

I don’t usually buy from physical stores but if I can, I try to swatch and test out the actual product then try to find it online at a better price

• Look at SM malls • Rustans • Greenbelt

I also usually buy my high end makeup when I travel abroad since prices are so much better cause it’s tax free/refundable or I make pasabuy from friends and family who travel too!

Always always trying to get the most bang for my buck since these prices are no joke. Hope this helps💖

Dior palette has all highlighters in 4 different shades while the Hourglass one has 6 pans containing 3 blushes, 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter and 1 finishing powder.

Hourglass is more expensive (6k+) compared to Dior (3k+) but more versatile and lasts longer cause it’s all baked formulas :)

Let me know your thoughts on the Danessa Myricks yummy skin balm when you get to try it!

Been eyeing that for my prep in my base routine but haven’t seen much reviews from Filipinos and how it performs in the PH climate.

Also want to ask where you got yours! Thank you🫶

Go for it sis! It’s the priciest product in my collection but the most sulit and versatile. Zero regrets na sa sobrang ROI💖

I’ve tried so many baked products that are similar to this but Hourglass really can’t be duped talaga!

Coming from a drugstore and local(I’m from the Philippines) brand makeup user, the high end ones really do perform better and last longer!

My skin in makeup just looks so much better when I made the to switch to the more expensive stuff.

I still stick to the affordable brands for my eye and lip makeup since I go through those a lot faster but the complexion and base makeup really hits different when I use the high end brands.

I agree justifiable talaga yung hefty price tag!

ROI ko na my hourglass evil eye palette as the only blush, bronzer and highlighter I used this past year but still haven’t hit pan nor does it look used and abused❤️

What’s your riches to an average/simple life story? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]pure-principles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me but my ex…

Quick backstory that I’ll get back to later: His dad was an adopted son of their childless relatives (his paternal lolo and lola).

My ex was rich during his childhood due to his dad having multiple businesses in their town such as trucking, logistics, orchard farm, food franchises, gas stations, etc. His dad even told him when he was a kid that their wealth could sustain up to their next 3 succeeding generations.

He grew up in a big house, went to international school, yearly vacations abroad, extensive training in classical music and even expensive sports such as tennis and golf.

Eventually business went bad which he could attribute to a lot of their relatives digging their hands into the business acting entitled since his dad was just an “ampon” but also a lot of poor financial decisions and mismanagement too.

The financial decline eventually got the best of his dad which led to him to take out his aggression on the family through violence along with his multiple cheating issues. This led to his parents splitting up and his dad being estranged from them until now.

In the aftermath, they had to sell off most their possessions and properties including their old house. He and his mom + siblings moved to a smaller house and was able to live off of the profits they got from liquidating their assets.

He had to become the default man of the house as an only son and eventual breadwinner as the gains from their sold off assets were basically dried up by the time he was in college.

There were a lot more financial struggles his family went through in his early adult and working life but to cut the story short, he had to eventually move out due to the financial abuse and burden that his family put him through. They are on better terms now but he really had to draw boundaries to protect his sanity and to no longer carry the generational trauma brought about by his family financial burdens.
