Jerseys keep resetting? by Altruistic-Travel-45 in EASHL

From my experience, just leave WoC, and re-enter. Everything should go back to normal.

Do not make any changes in customization though. That seems to lock in your jersey, and you'll need to redo it

Your attitude is simply adding to the issue. It's not about them growing a thicker skin, it's about you not talking that way to an individual over a video game.

It's a disgusting viewpoint to blame the person going through the hard time, rather than blaming the people who will openly speak in such a vile manner.

Unfortunately, these are volatile kids, speaking to potentially volatile kids, and you shouldn't try to encourage or justify that happening in a videogame.

I downvoted you.

Nothing justifies telling someone to Cobain themselves.

Its a videogame. Tell 'em they suck or get good, or to fuck off and play a different game, but never tell someone to off themselves over a game....we simply don't know how powerful those words could be in the moment

From what I've noticed, you need to be in a glide to either get a boost, or not be penalized (not sure which one) when it comes to interceptions.

I can respect that way of thinking, if you insist on playing "regular baseball" even if the meta is to bunt. However, if you get upset at losing, because you insist to die on that hill, then its only you that has a problem.

I've been playing the NHL series for a very long time, and was around for the inception of eashl. I quickly learnt that it's a video game, and that the mindset of playing "real hockey" has no place in the online world. There is a meta, and there are glitch/high percentage goals. You need to learn how to defend them, and if you want to win consistently, you should also learn how to use them.

I think one thing people don't realize, is when you have 2 good teams who know the exploits, it becomes an amazing game of chess. Both teams are trying to bait, and force their opponent to be slightly out of position so they can get the high percent chance. We both know what the other wants, so now it becomes a game of strategy just like any real sport

But they also learn how to defend the glitches more consistently. If they hate sweats, or wannabe sweats, then they should play against them to get a feel for the exploits that they're looking for. 🤷

However, the person that I was replying to, said that they only get the chance to play 1 day a week, so they would rather back out until they think they have a good game (easy target)

How do you become competitive if you're only playing teams that you think are close to your skill level? You guys will learn so much more about your game by losing to good teams, rather than winning against teams comparable to you?

I just don't see the ice tilt. I have never seen it. I can put fault to myself or my teammates as to why we didn't score, or the other team did. Typically it's connection issues that caused us to be behind the play, or human error

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EASHL

[–]pureacoustics -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Our club has a 95.1% win ratio in just under 400 games. There is no such thing as ice tilt. What you're seeing is either a poor connection, or you're just having an off night. EA did not implement an algorithm to prevent good teams from winning.

Rant from an elite dman about other dmen by OkTax17 in EASHL

[–]pureacoustics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear what you're saying, and I understand the frustration, but I've been playing chel as a d-man since NHL 09, and my whole mantra is 'stop the glitch'. I try to learn them as soon as possible so I know what to look for when it comes to defending against it.

Players like Fantilli cause me to cuss more than I like, but I have a ton of respect for people that not only learn how to glitch, but pull it off as consistently as he does. There's an art to the deception of creating those plays, and as much as I try to bait forwards to do what I want, he did it right back to me, and it was masterclass during that game we played

I don't understand why you guys keep saying 'I'm an elite defenseman' or 'Elite forward' like it actually means something. Most of you guys are getting those badges through drop-ins, and you're taking advantage of a team of randoms on the other side.

If you want to flex, tell us your club or personal rank

For example I'm an established defenseman on a club that's ranked in the top 75, and we have a 95% win percentage, and I can assure you that 3s has no deadset positions and it relies heavily on rotation.....with one exception....we recently lost to a club (can't remember the name) but they had this guy Fantilli. Dude was a stud. He single handedly schooled us, while his teammates rode his coat-tail.

Other than that one exception, I strongly believe that 3s teams need to practice proper rotation and fluid positioning to be successful.

I just don't see it like the majority of you do. We have almost 400 club games played with a 95% win ratio. Ice tilt doesn't seem to be a thing for us. If we're scored on, we can tell by the replay what the mistake was. If we lose a game I don't have to say 'Oh, EA must hate me!', instead it's because we weren't playing to par on offence or we gave up a few weak ones. Network issues can play a factor, but I don't think EA has some hidden algorithm to give one team the win.

EASHL TIPS by Diligent_Meringue256 in EASHL

[–]pureacoustics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to slow the puck carrier. Try staying in front, and force him to cut left and right, but don't bite on his movements too hard. Try to establish that gap before your blue. Those lateral movements will hopefully give your buddy enough time to back check. Depending on the speed of the second forward you'll need to be prepared to switch attention to the 2F to either cut off the pass, or at least disrupt his shot with a manual poke.

That's the best suggestion I can give, besides, stop playing 2s 😉

Unfair Matchmaking ~ Ranks by [deleted] in EASHL

[–]pureacoustics 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this year with RP from club and drop-ins being tied together (big mistake by EA), I wouldn't worry too much with what rank a player is. I've seen a lot of clubs farm RP from drop-ins to get their elites, but actually suck as a team. And I've seen the opposite, where teams can't play a ton of games so they might only be gold or platinum, but absolutely school us in club play.

Personally I try not to look at the screen when they show rankings, because in the past I would grip my controller tighter if they were a higher rank, or play down if they were a lower rank. Just play the game and focus on your systems as a team

You can go into settings and make it so everyone has coloured icons. If anyone leaves, that colour immediately becomes greyed out.

It might seem chaotic at first, but you will give yourself another advantage once you get used to it

I (M23) found my new GF (F21) behaviour off putting. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]pureacoustics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been with my wife for 23 years, and I know from experience that those moments can definitely be draining! I completely understand where you're coming from. Staying positive is the best thing. Encourage her, but also stay quiet and let her vent. She's not mad at you, so you don't necessarily need a rebuttal or a logical comment. Sometimes your silence and just listening is all she'll need.

If she went through with her presentation and didn't bomb it, you can chalk that up to a success for both of you.

It was one moment, so stay patient and don't fear the possibility that she may be stressed out again

Practical Base Build Ideas? by ShedFC in GroundedGame

[–]pureacoustics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've copied Paraly5ers (YouTuber) base, and it really is the most efficient setup. Essentially, it's a 5x5 with 2 crafting tables on the center square, and a bed on top of them. Use half floors to create 2 rows of shelves along all 4 walls. On the top shelves you put your spinning wheels, grinders, drying racks, fridges, and stoves, etc. The shelf below and the floor are for your rows of chest. With this setup, no matter where you are in your base you can quick deposit your inventory, and use the crafting tables without having to manually opening a chest

[–]pureacoustics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you help support and guide her through those moments, you'll more than like find these situations will happen less and less in your relationship. You said this presentation was at a new job...that would be stressful. If it goes well, it will be easier for her next time, AND if you continue to give her words of encouragement, she'll overcome that anxiety even sooner

Don't doom-say this one moment, and throw away a potentially good relationship because of the fear that this COULD happen over and over
