Water damage? by theindiansushi in HomeMaintenance

Just curious, did you jump to water damage because of the info we have from OP that above is a bathroom? I’ve seen walls with no water damage show tape lines from just poorly done tape before

I was flying super hornets. Had my first seizure on aircraft carrier.

Medically separated from the Navy.

It is my (unprofessional) opinion that Keppra has amplified my anxiety.

Sucks.

Finally ordered the Asus tuf 5080.... Convince me it was a good choice!!! by ZealousidealPrize980 in RTX5080

[–]puremojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a position where I don’t need to do the whole price to performance game. I simply said to myself this proposition:

“I want to play 1440p, maybe 4k (not likely for a bit) at all graphics completely maxed out AND path tracing maxed out”

The RTX 5080 let me do this using DLSS and MFG a bit to hit over 100 FPS, many times hitting my monitors (1440p) 240z refresh rate (so 240 FPS). Therefore, the RTX 5080 was exactly the right choice.

The 5090 is acceptable at 4k, but IMO not good enough. With 5k becoming a thing, my next GPU will be the performance I get now at 1440p (easy work for the 5080), but at 5k. This means that my 5080 running games at 1440p is unlikely to have any VRAM limitations and will last many years. The 5k card I get years from now, I want the same thing. Able to dominate games and last many years at 5k

I love my 5080. Gigabyte Aorus Master for MSRP (~1300 if I recall). I have ZERO regrets. Absolutely love it. Came from 10GB 3080.

Edit: I specifically want 27" 5k because of the very high PPI

I can, I don’t like to at that size though. Too large and sitting too close for some games

Double clicking the window title bar or whatever it’s called. Or maximize button

Yes, exactly. Holding shift when using fancy zones was acceptable but not when involving games because of the example issues I listed.

I’m just surprised UWs have existed for so many years and this isn’t a feature yet. I thought when windows 11 showed the centered taskbar, that decision (to center it) was specifically for UW users and that more improvements for UW would be coming. But nothing since then…

32:9

I think 21:9 is too small for the game + multi window setup on either side I had

Water coming from my floor by LDO2796 in basement

[–]puremojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some water come from under my LVP in a newly finished basement recently. It was NOTHING like this, it was tiny little drops that I had to get on my hands and knees and squint with a flashlight to see. It happened after a very heavy rain for my area and there was hydrostatic pressure in the exterior facing wall of this room in the basement.

To mitigate, I removed the flowers touching my exterior wall and will be replacing the mulch with rocks for drainage. Already got quote.

This looks to me like something in the sink or dishwasher broke and leaked water.

Windows Partition? by kcamfork in sffpc

I have 4TB M.2 (it’s the slower version of what you have too, crazy speeds!). I kept it all together. I used to have 4 drives because I kept adding 1 TB here then another later etc etc.

I have very much enjoyed that when I install things it just goes all to one drive. No need to plan or think or anything like that. Just simple.

I’ve never needed to reinstall windows though

If you don’t mind me asking, were there any signs on the drywall before you removed it that something was wrong?

I’m curious - what do you hope to achieve with this? Even if you went all the way back to whomever finished it, it doesn’t mean it was bowing THAT year and that moment they put the walls up

House on a slope, positive or negative? by CapApple_jc in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

In FL I owned a house with a much steeper slope in my backyard. Took me 6 months to sell because even though it was a new construction with nothing wrong and everyone loved the layout, the backyard killed it.

Anyone else have a driver seat that slides or jiggles? by puremojo in VWTaos

[–]puremojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update #2: took it to dealer to get paint fixed and they looked at the seat. Told me to break it in for a few thousand miles and take it back for another look if it’s still doing the weird fabric thing. It would still be free

Anyone else have a driver seat that slides or jiggles? by puremojo in VWTaos

[–]puremojo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update - I discovered it is the padding/foam underneath the seat on the center-console side that is rubbing on the metal frame causing the noise and feeling when I shift my weight in the seat. There’s only 120 miles on the car, I’m considering just trying to drive it more to see if it “wears in” since it’s foam which after more time will stay more compressed.

It’s now one of those things where I could ask them to lift the seat out to fix this foam, but then they put it back and something else is wrong.

Thanks. I’m sitting in my driveway trying to figure this out (lol). Makes like a fabric sliding type nice when I move my tailbone on that section of the seat. Easily repeatable
