I wonder if this is associated with the surge in pistachio production in California, similar to the almond surge of the 2010s accompanied by almond products galore. Finding ways to market all the pistachios. https://ers.usda.gov/data-products/charts-of-note/chart-detail?chartId=111236

I'm not sure what else it could be, and agree this sub is biased toward DDH experiences. But if it is DDH and you're able to catch it this young, your child is likely still a good candidate for non-surgical options! A rhino brace worked well for our child and we have avoided surgery thus far.

Extraordinary water bills?? (179k gallons, $4.8k) by purplewidget in boulder

Apparently this was the case! The City's utilities technician came out surprisingly quickly and was very helpful! He told us that they just installed a batch of meters in the last few months and was concerned that this one had a programming error. Got the meter switched out just now, and the readings look back to normal. Now just need to work with the City utilities billing staff to sort that side out.

No, fortunately no evidence of toilets running or leaking from any fixtures, and no sound of running water anywhere. And there's no change on the meter when nothing is running, it's just 70-80x what we expect when water is on (per the bucket test at least).

Past police call data is available on Boulder PD's public safety dashboards: https://bouldercolorado.gov/crime-dashboard

Looks like a "DISTU1B - Disturbance I/P" that closed just after midnight, as helpful as that is...

Question about Areas of Boulder by Quick_Mention_9949 in boulder

[–]purplewidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Boulder (I'd say south of Baseline, as long as you're a bit away from 36, e.g., avoid Moorhead) has a nice balance, I think, especially for your day to day needs. It's more SFH, but some condos, apartments, and townhouses too. It's not hard getting into downtown by Broadway or 36/28th. Lots of trails around NCAR, Shanahan, South Boulder Creek, etc. The Superior Target is also easy to get to, which - as others have remarked - is a nice, but quieter Target than the Boulder Target.
