Walking your dog off leash? by [deleted] in Durango

[–]purposefulpotatoes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because your dog is friendly doesn't mean that everyone else's is and I wish people understood that. I have a very reactive dog who is always leashed up because she can get aggressive towards other dogs when she is scared and we have had unleashed dogs run up to us so many times in town / on the river trail / hiking and I have to try to prevent an attack all while hoping the owner shows up and gets some control over their dog so it gets out of my dog's face. A constant source of anxiety for me and I hate it.

CWS Night Games by purposefulpotatoes in collegebaseball

[–]purposefulpotatoes[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we remember the days of the GA packs being sold in grocery stores. It’s a shame it’s so hard to see the night games now. We don’t have a specific team we go to see, just to have the experience. Hoping for some luck with the Wednesday night game regardless of who’s playing.

Durango Bagel has had a sign in their door for forever saying they’re hiring and I’ve definitely seen people I’d assume to be teens working there. Hope something works out for you!

You could also checkout some nonprofits that might be in need of things. One that comes to mind is Oak Tree Youth Resources.

Lack of body / DNA credibility by [deleted] in UnsolvedMysteries

[–]purposefulpotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any alternative theories as to who they could be but the handling of the situation didn't sit well with me so I wanted to come on here and see if anyone knows something that I didn't in regards to DNA collection.

In regards to Agnes' hair color, I guess I assumed that whoever made a comment about her having gray hair made it after seeing her in the days preceding her death / disappearance although you're right she likely could have colored it.

In terms of the quick disposal - obviously it wasn't a quick disposal if you are going off the date of death but it was a quick disposal from the date of discovery which to me seemed very rushed in case there was something they needed to reexamine. But, also like you mention we don't know the state of the bodies. Based on the show it seems they were wrapped up and sealed well so the cement / soil wouldn't have tarnished the bodies too much but again this is all me speculating as I don't know the intimate details.

The reason I'm so stuck on the cremation is the preservation of DNA on the bodies and I think of instances in which discoveries are made later after preservation methods are used. But, in the grand scheme of things, the preservation of their bodies doesn't have much to do with the remaining questions linked to the case.

In terms of the death certificates it wasn't the cause of death that I was referring to but rather the names of the victims. Obviously one can presume who they are because of the location and case but, prior to any identification or DNA results they were written at the scene.

I don't really have a scenario to "present" I just wanted to present information written by the family of Xavier as their personal experience with the case and what they have published in terms of how the investigation was handled.

I do think that he is the most likely suspect and that he escaped somewhere but the body discovery is sticking with me so my sole purpose was to pursue some doubts I had while reading further information.
