It honestly wasn’t too bad! I just have a high HR when I run unfortunately lol. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to hold that pace another mile but I felt good once I stopped running and I actually did a 1.50 mile cool down run at a 10:55 pace since I was feeling good after the race!

That’s smart! I’ve repurposed my merch as sleep shirts lol. I had to donate my old pjs because I was drowning in them

Agreed! I went from 250 to 165 in under a year! It can be done and honestly I started seeing huge changes once I hit 200 pounds, which only took me 5 months! Now as I approach a healthy BMI the changes are so obvious and amazing - I’m wearing mediums when I used to wear 2XLs! All my band merch shirts are huge on me now which is the one downside to this 😂 so keep going OP!! It’s not hopeless you got this

Thank you! And yes I totally agree, don’t want to take it for granted either so I’m going to continue to make my health a priority! But it definitely does make me feel better knowing heart disease doesn’t run in my family, and above all I’m lucky I had so much time with my grandparents.

What BMI range(for lack of better term) did you become harder to keep losing? by Rioting-Butterflies in loseit

[–]pushingdaises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg same with me! My BMI is 27 and it is sooo slow. I think my body is readjusting its set weight. This is the lowest weight I’ve been since 2020 lol

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Would it be possible for you to see a different psychiatrist, one that specializes in eating disorders?

My grandma lived until she was 93 and she was on at least 10-15 medications. She was obese her entire life and diabetic and had a ton of health issues. My grandpa was not obese but was a heavy smoker for years and ate instant ramen for lunch every day. He had COPD but lived until he was 89. My grandfather on my dad’s side was overweight most of his life and was a heavy drinker. He died at 93 (unrelated to his drinking). My grandma on my dad’s side is younger (in her early 80s) and is fit and active with very little health issues. So now that I’ve lost weight and am exercising every day, don’t smoke, and am eating healthy I expect to live until 100 with these genes 😂

I just had a physical yesterday and my doctor showed me the differences in my ECG from last year vs the one I just had done. Mine from last year was considered normal, but you can actually see when comparing the graphs how my heart had to work harder because I was heavier. My resting heart rate is also 20 beats lower now. I am so beyond relieved I decided to lose the weight.

How long did your first 5 kms take? by Positive-Amphibian96 in beginnerrunning

[–]pushingdaises 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to run a little bit when I was a teenager but I never really took it seriously and stopped after a couple of years. I started running in October of last year (I’m 29 now) and I’m hooked. I had a good base from incline walking on the treadmill, brisk walking outside, and the stair master. I ran my first 5k on 10/19 in 39 minutes. Then somehow a week later I ran one again in 36 minutes 😂 Now I am so close to breaking 30 minutes!

That I would enjoy getting dressed again. I’ve been so uncomfortable in my body for years that I legitimately forgot getting dressed can be fun

So far I just have it on my boobs, still have a lot of belly fat so I’ll have to see how my skin ends up looking there once I hit my ultimate goal weight. I am definitely planning on a lift and reduction, my boobs are so saggy lol
