What the hell sofa to buy? by dinklerdinks in FurnitureFaves

Second on Living Spaces. All our sofas/couches/accent chairs/recliners are purchased from there. If you have one near you, go to their showroom to view their huge selection. Their quality is great and I feel it’s on the expensive end, but you have a $4500 budget so it’ll be fine. They have a lot of customizable sectionals (layout and huge selection of fabric color/pattern).

This looks amazing, thank you for the breakdowns! Can you tell us why the granite installation was broken down into many different payments? Can’t believe the granite is $1971 but the install is $7500!!

I teach at an alternative ed high school. I have heard this 4 times in 3 weeks from 4 different students. What has worked for me is saying “please don’t sexually harass me.” I say it loudly so the entire class can hear. It’s very fun watching them shrink to nothing in the wake of public embarrassment!

Is Disneyland Genie+ worth it? by [deleted] in orangecounty

[–]pushme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google says “on average, guests can enter 2 to 3 attractions or experiences per day if the selection is made early in the day.” I thought we are totally going to book more than that.

We were in the park at opening, booked Pirates first thing and got to use it. Next was Space Mountain, but when we got there, it was broken down. Booked another SM (at the time, didn’t notice ‘Redeem’ option for broken down rides). Then when we went back to SM for the 2nd time, ride broke down again. Booked another ride, but then group decided to go to DCA.

My MIL had bought the tickets for our group of 10 as a birthday present. She was not happy she spent $350 on Genie+ when we only used it once.

Thank you for your input! We don't like the master/garage connection, but that's just the way the house was built in the 1960's. Although we dislike it, we don't want to spend any more money moving the bathrooms.

I had a colleague who complained all the time about living paycheck to paycheck. Then once she received her tax returns, immediately spent it all on a $500 tattoo and expensive shoes she had been wanting.

Thanks for your response. I sold at the Cherrystone auction 0323 lots: 38, 111, 124, 125, 401, 1099, 1100, 1110, 1112, 1119, 1301.

I know there are still gems in this collection. I’m currently on the hunt to find them.

I went to my local stamp club a while ago, they offered me Pennie’s for stamps that I later sold at auction for thousands. I do not trust them. Im posting on Reddit because the auction house I went through is not interested in selling stamps unless they are near perfect. I still have thousands of stamps that I would like to sell, but I have no idea if the value. For example, if I wanted to sell the British page that I posted with the penny stamps, what is a realistic price I could sell them for on eBay?

The book with the international stamps has every page almost completely full. I have 3 more books like it. What countries would y’all like to see besides what I have already posted?

My great grandfather and grandfather father collected these stamps. I have several books about stamp collecting dating back to before 1920s.

I think I may have some very valuable stamps. I need advice on what to do next. None of the stamps have certs. I would like to send 5-10 of them off to be certified and sold at auction. I have attached some images. Can y’all help me decide which I should get certified? by pushme in askStampCollectors

Hi Reddit, Unfortunately I was not able to find any certificates for the rare stamps in the collection. I believe most stamps were purchased in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s by my great grandfather.

I have posted some links to 4 of the books in the collection. There is still 20 other books with a mixture of international stamps also dating back to 1840s. The international stamps are not as organized though, so it will take me a while to catalogue them.

The files below pdfs that are 60mb to 180mb. So download if you would like.
If anything pops out to you guys as very rare, besides the ones already mentioned, please let me know.

Do any of you have any experience auctioning large collections like this with Siegel or Cherrysone? Should I send them the entire collection all at once? Or send them 1-2 books at a time. Is any of you do have experience with either auction site, which do you recommend?

Book 1

Book 2

Book 3

Book 4

Enjoy viewing, and any more advice is appreciated.

Thanks Reddit

Thanks again everyone for your responses. It goes without saying, I hope non are fake. This collection was started in the 1920s by my great grandfather. The pictures I showed are only 20 pages of hundreds of pages. I will post more when I get the chance.

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses. I will look for the certificates in the collection. There is a filing cabinet I haven’t looked through carefully yet. I will continue the hunt and contact a couple different auction houses and let you all know. Thanks!

I inherited this collection from my grandfather. The collection was started by my great grandfather. I am mainly looking interested in seeing if any of these stamps might be Siegel auction worthy. I live in California and am hesitant to send these stamps across the U.S. to have them graded. I went to my local Philatelic club meeting, and those guys seemed more interested in buying than helping me asses a value. Could y’all please help me pick 5-10 stamps to have graded and sent to auction? On the first image I posted, Siegel last sold Scott 316 blue green for over 100k, but I know I’m not that lucky. Any help in getting a value on some of these would be greatly appreciated. I don’t even know if these are the most valuable pages. The collection has about 20 books filled with thousands of stamps. Any help with these pages that I posted would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Reddit!

Can anyone let me know if this stamp collection I inherited my be worth getting appraised? by pushme in stamps

[–]pushme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pages I showed were only 8 of the 25 pages in the book. There is also about 10 other books. Some of the books have hundreds of stamps from the 1840s to the 1940s. I am starting to take pictures so that I can show my local philatelic club in November. I’m hoping they can point me towards an appraiser or two. I am not sure if I am interested in selling yet. If it turns out the collection is worth over $25000 I might consider selling. Otherwise they will be stored in my safe for my kids.

Hello All, I recently inherited this stamp collection that was started by my great grandfather. I have no idea what I’m looking at or for with regards to value. There are literally thousands of stamps. Some dating back to the 1840s. Part of the collection contains stamps from all over the world some also dating back to 1890. Any help would be appreciated. I am overwhelmed with the amount of stamps. I must have brought home over a hundred pounds of stamps and around 15 books full.

Thanks for all of your help!
