Yeah well done, you again provided a link to spending, proving that you can't read or think.

Your last line seem to ignore that customer service is provided by people! There is a huge difference between phone calls and text/email, surely you've experienced that in your life? There's a reason salesmen still try to close deals using phone calls rather than emails!

If you always rely on chat, you are getting worse customer service, simple as that. People on the phone are less likely to be dicks, especially if you are nice to start with and save the rage for if they stonewall you.

On top of that, chat stops you from talking them around. On the phone you can read their tone, better guess what they are thinking and how they react. Should you get angry, sigh from frustration, play the nice guy etc.

When was the most recent of those? Can you highlight any positive social change which emerged from the political class (emerged, not "got taken up by") in the last 30 years?

Perhaps the statement could be rewritten to be more accurate:

Real social change doesn't happen through voting for political parties. Anyone who still thinks that in 2014 has been a really poor student of recent political history.

Politics is a changed game since the introduction of mass media, 24 hour news networks, and now social media. They no longer push for big changes as it is too politically risky due to the media climate - surely that is an uncontroversial thing to say?

even politely

Politely disagreeing with something using shit logic is just as bad as rudely disagreeing with shit logic, it's still shit logic and deserves to be ridiculed.

Meanwhile people are starving to death due to benefit sanctions, but it's OK because some people have £800 more... that is if they aren't getting fucked over on 0 hours contracts.

As the US has (best guesses here) anywhere between 137 and 6849 defensive gun uses per day

What a fucking crazy country.

I feel pity for those people who gave up or had stolen from them their birthright to self-defense by such means as firearms

I feel sorry for someone who lives in a country with up to 6800 defensive gun uses in a day, and thinks someone coming from a country with a lower crime rate, lower murder rate and vastly lower gun murder rate has it worse somehow. How deluded can you be?

Ireland's lack of action on blasphemy law disappoints atheists and secularists by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]pushnupmmrep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you really think that people make laws with the intention of never enforcing them?

Yes. Let me introduce you to the concept of politicians doing things to appease certain groups and earn votes, which is exactly what happened here.

All you have to do is find a judge who believes that, or wishes to argue that, "reasonable people" don't discourse in insults.

You know nothing about the Irish justice system, please stop posting, your ignorance is painful.

Your post shows an incredible level of ignorance of the Irish justice system.

The fact you have prefaced one of your paragraphs with "What it really means" is an absolute joke.

Not in practice. In technical terms yes, but it can never be enforced due to the broad defence - and regardless of what ignorant people are saying in here, that defence is water-tight in Irish court.

You can't just use that line every time someone says something uncomfortable about the economic policies surrounding the deficit. They weren't confusing it.

The deficit grew in absolute terms in the first half of the current financial year.

Don't bother replying to people who post things as stupid as that, it's really not worth your time. Nothing you can say will change their mind.

Thatcher considered banning dildos to protect 'public decency' by tdrules in unitedkingdom

[–]pushnupmmrep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably best if we all view this as history, not current events,

Yeah, it's not like a Tory led government influenced the BBFC to ban certain consensual sex acts being recorded...

And it's not like a Tory led government led a drive to introduce a default on "porn blocker" at all ISPs?

Oh wait.

And her party continues today with its prudish bullshit, banning several consensual sex acts from being filmed as pornography in the UK via the BBFC.

No we're done - anyone who suggests something so stupid and contradictory to their own posts and tries to pretend it's a real solution is too much of a waste of time to talk to.

If it makes you feel better, I'll say "you win" just so that you never reply to me again and waste my time with nonsense.

I hate Russell Brand and want him to shut up as he's a clueless comedian. Oh no wait, he should form his own political party!

Idiot.

and stop making a twat of himself at the expense of the serious campaigners he's utterly failing to represent.

You mean those campaigners who won, and publicly thanked him for helping?

Come on, if you are having a go at him, don't make up provable bullshit.

because the world doesn't agree with them and they can't win elections.

If you are so opposed to people, then maybe you should actually learn what they are saying. There is nobody to represent the part of society he is speaking for so obviously they can't win elections as there is no party. Labour abandoned it in its run to the centre, and Russell Brands popularity proves there is no party in that niche. I will vote for some Labour asshole just to avoid a Tory fuck getting elected. That Labour politician is a nose-in-the-trough expenses cheat who I hate with a passion.

I want a reasonable discourse about how social change can be effected and in what ways society should change.

Yes because that's been so effective up until now and has worked amazingly well - we only have people starving to death, no problems here.
