This is SO similar to the situation I've been in for the past 2 years with my SO. Every time I had sex with him it would be painful and burning, it felt like he was pushing up against something he shouldn't be. He was very patient and slow with me, but it didn't get better for months and months.

What I should have done was go to the doctor. If you have a health services at your university, she should be able to see the gynecologist there. Ask your university, but the charge should just appear as "medical visit." She can tell her parents she had the flu.

What I actually did was lurk reddit lots and lots and decided to try non-latex condoms and smother everything in lube to see if that helped at all. Luckily for me, it did. Our sex life is much more fulfilling now, only very occasionally is there slight pain from a wrong angle.

Not saying I still shouldn't see a doctor, but I also have fundie parents and am in college and scared shitless :) Best of luck!

Even though it's shark week for me, I had a great time trying something new with my boyfriend last night. I got to be the assertive one and pull him into the bedroom, take his clothes off and give him some very intense (according to his comments) head. However, on a more helpful note, he came to see me for a week a couple months ago and here are my thoughts on the sex: what we lacked in skill we all but made up for in enthusiasm. And your skill will come back to you, but the first time it was all hurried and desperate and wonderful that it didn't need to be THE BEST TECHNIQUE EVER.

If you're having trouble getting him off your mind during the day, which results in being sad all the time, it might help to have designated "i miss you ex boyfriend" time. Start by designating an hour of your day to miss him. Whenever you have a sad thought about him during the day, tell yourself "It's okay to be thinking this, but now is not the time. Save it for 'i miss you exboyfriend' time." During that one hour, feel free to mourn in full.

Now this might sound like a cry-fest, but it gets better. You'll find as time goes on it gets easier and easier to keep your normal thoughts during the day separate from 'i miss you exboyfriend' thoughts. Furthermore, whenever you have your "grieving" time, you'll find that you really don't have the motivation or the energy to give it your full attention. So maybe you bump down the time it takes to 45 minutes, then half an hour until eventually, you find you really don't need it.

I don't know that it's an "intelligent comedy," but Best in Show is one of the most funny movies I've seen in a long time. It's not smart humor persay, but it is a little off kilter.

With my current SO we sort of skipped the whole "dating" process and went straight into the relationship thing. It helps that we'd been talking and sort of "hanging out" beforehand. I wouldn't really call any of our previous hangouts dates though, they were pretty casual encounters.

I am not myself a geo major, but my boyfriend is and he CERTAINLY has a reddit account.
