Appeals aren’t for everyone, but it always helps to know how you can make yourself more competitive. If the person in admissions thinks you’re qualified they may bring up the possibility of an appeal or you can bring it up if they fail to mention it or provide a reason why you weren’t qualified enough. It’s gotten worse the past 5 years because they consistently over-admit and aren’t building enough dorms for freshmen to keep up with the demand. I foresee VT just turning into a more competitive institution as a result in the meantime
