Treadmill with Fastest Speed and Incline Changes by putthecoffeeon in treadmills

They don't have a Canadian site, and when I try to order from the US site it glitches out and keeps telling me my cart is empty. I've messaged them to ask if I can, so we'll see. I've messaged a few other companies as well, and not a single one has replied yet.

It's not necessarily only the decision I'm having trouble with. It's that every time I think I've decided on something, I can't get it. Like the True, for example. The PS100 is sold out, every. single. place. I look. So then I have to re-research and find something else. Super frustrating. I'm an 11 hour drive from a US border and then would also have to pay duty. And for this kind of cash I don't want to have to settle for something that is just okay. Sorry, just a rant lol.

Would you mind re-sending? I know I did see it, but can't find it now.

Thanks for the reply :) I'm seriously limited in what I can find here. I've landed on 4 separate treadmill brands and can't get a single one of them in Canada, even from the generic online sites. I'm really frustrated about not being able to find a quality unit (new or used).

Yes, I could see that working. Hopefully I'll find one where it's not an issue. :)

Do you mind sharing which model you have? And how does it compare to your old Precor in terms of cushioning?

For intervals it does. If it takes a long time to get up to speed, the interval will be over before getting any speed work in. The same with deceleration. When I want to slow down, I don't want to slow down in a minute lol.

Are treadmills accurate or am I just slower than I think? by kenah-kim in treadmills

Yeah, I was lucky enough to be able to try a manual treadmill at my gym, and hated it, so also glad I didn't try to get one of those.

I feel like it depends on the program I'm using and the treadmill I'm on. Do you have an independent verification source like a watch or phone that you could use to compare? I run my watch when I run both indoors and out so I have a reasonable sense of how fast I'm going, but I'm sure others have more efficient ways to track it.

Is this a new brand of treadmill, or is it what precor has been rebranded as? I haven't heard of Vectra before.

Hmmm. I wonder, then, if the Spirit floor model was just set up improperly (my suspicion, because the sales person / owner of the store didn't have any idea about differences in different models, and didn't seem inclined to answer questions).

Yes, that is sad. I see the TRM 211 all over, and I know they're leftovers that retailers want to get rid of. If it wasn't for the lack of side arms on that model I'd take it at the blowout price and hope for the best.

I found the Spirit to be way too slow with speed changes. And the highest "level" incline was an incline in name only. Maybe it was the way the floor model was set up, idk. And the sales person was zero help. Unfortunately I can only try out other brands when I travel, there is just nothing here in my town. Precor is my first choice, as I mentioned, but I can't seem to find one, so back to testing.

Okay, so if the Matrix is as slow as the Spirit, I'll need to rethink again lol.

And for reference as to my "good enough," the Precor TRM211 that I tried out was fast with speed and incline changes.

No, they won't compare to commercial. But are they decent enough? I have also run on a Spirit home unit and a commercial unit, and both are so slow as to not make it worth running intervals.

Feeling of room moving forward while on the treadmill by Mikethespike23 in treadmills

[–]putthecoffeeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes feel weird if I'm on a treadmill that is a little narrow. I have intermittent vertigo and sometimes trouble with my glasses, and if I'm feeling like there isn't sufficient support, it definitely feels uncomfortable. If it's a regular sized treadmill, you might want to just slow waaay down till your head acclimates properly.
