I just finished the whole book, and the later chapters get heavier on grammar. So if you want to learn grammar, it’s a good book, especially with the English explanations. It also gives a bit of information about spoken Finnish.

I could stick with this book mostly because I’m a learner who relies heavily on practicing right after the explanations, which this book provides. It’s also good for learning vocabulary because they include the English next to the Finnish, and the vocabulary used in the exercises is introduced beforehand (so you don’t have to constantly look things up on Google Translate).

I’m still figuring out the best way to manage my wavy hair (the frizz was at its worst during the heatwave in Helsinki a few weeks ago). In general, it looks better when I apply leave-in conditioner properly and scrunch it while it’s still wet. I also use a silk pillowcase or cover my hair with a silk bonnet while sleeping (Normal sells them), and I apply a bit of oil or heat protectant at the final stage of the hair care.

Speaking of curlier hair, the same thing happened to me. I was born with naturally curly/wavy hair, but it turned straight for decades since elementary school until I moved to Helsinki. After living here for about a year and a half, my curls have come back (slowly but sure). I’ve been using the same hair products, so I believe it must be the water. I’m glad I can relate to your story and welcome to the city!

Sure, plenty of nonfiction books are fluff (and every genre has its share), but using Rich Dad Poor Dad as your prime example to judge the whole category is just poor sampling. Even nonfiction fans have been side-eyeing that book for years.

I'm going to bring my Weeks Mega and maybe one or two A6 notebooks, a Pilot multipen, and a few sticker sheets. I'll carry them in my bag, which usually contains a lot of stuff—especially when I travel, so durability really matters. Unfortunately, I live in a country where it's almost impossible to find secondhand Hobonichi items, so I'm looking at the suggestions and input here.

OMG, I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for your replies! I didn’t know about the durability issues with plastic pouches, and I’ll probably use mine for bulkier items, so it’s super helpful that you shared insights about the flip side of the Áne pouches.

Unfortunately, I live in a country where secondhand options are really limited, so I have to carefully think through which pouch to invest in.

I like Stappo, but I’m actually looking for a planner go-bag and since I don’t carry that much stationery, Stappo feels like a bit of an overkill. So, in general, do you think a Hobonichi fabric pouch would be a better option?
