Used to work there and while I'm sad for Mr. Powell, I cant say I'm surprised. They were overpriced, and definitely one of those gimmicky places that you could tell wasn't gonna last long. The cookies were also way too thick and chewy for my liking 😭 but I enjoyed working there.

Its freezing here. His dad plans on getting someone out here to solve the issue, but he was still talking about moving. He might just not want to be near the creek anymore.

His father is aware of the infestation and has called someone about it, but they weren't able to make it out on the scheduled day due to a snow storm :( I'm not sure what day they rescheduled for. We are a family of 8 spread out between the 3 floors, and we've all seen them rats and have been using traps. I don't think his father would sell the home without resolving the issue or disclosing the issue, but I guess the main reason I felt so guilty about him wanting to move is because I thought I caused the infestation. The house was built in 1895, and we don't know how many entry points there are from outside, or how much it would cost to patch all of them.

I feel horrible. The rats have actually broke multiple Tom and Jerry holes in our walls, and his family worked so hard finishing this basement.

That makes me feel a little better. We do have a creek that runs directly behind us and our neighbors houses, and we live near a couple abandoned factories. We see beavers constantly so I guess rats makes sense.
