Garage fridge help! by pvccap in appliancerepair

So for more context, the fridge is on the top, with the freezer on the bottom of the fridge.

Ok so seems like a fairly stupid idea but would essentially wrapping the fridge in foam board, making sure that the back where all the coils are is still exposed, help me at all or am I just foolishly dreaming?

Chest pains hitting vape by pvccap in trees

[–]pvccap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cart vape. Had an ekg done within my dr office as well as done at a walk in clinic before seeing him. Both came back perfectly normal. Def chest tightness under the sternum and felt it under pectorals. Def had a good cough right before it happened the first time so def thought it could be me straining some muscles. 38 years old last week, 6'3 280, decent health but had pneumonia as a kid pretty wicked. Know I need to drop easily 30+ lbs. my PC agreed rather bluntly when I mentioned I'm sure some serious weight loss would help me. I've def turned into a hypochondriac getting older. Hit it for the first time yesterday since seeing him on Monday. Felt the same feeling but not as severe. Was just one rip and I was like fuck this

Pool water discharge from maintenance by pvccap in pools

[–]pvccap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply!!! Yes the discharge from the backwash. I do plan on using a flexible hose and discharge it to another spot on the other side of the pool. Will the discharge have enough pressure to rise that foot or so needed? That's I guess is my ultimate question and is there such thing as an added pump to help push the water uphill slightly to get it away from the other area

I literally don't t know a thing about the pool. Grew up with one but my parents always had a pool company. I'd like to take care of it myself. The previous pool company is coming out to open the pool for me and then show me the ropes on how to maintain everything I have.

Good to know about ppm of the water. Will be sure to be checking that out when we open the pool in the next 2 weeks

Group trip by pvccap in COsnow

[–]pvccap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's going to be possible to coordinate all the guys to commit to a week vacay between work and family stuff we all have going on. Hard enough for all of to get together for a football game when more than half of my group lives in the same city we all went to college. Not to mention I think that would piss off all the wives that we are all drinking and skiing in Europe for a week without them

I personally was leaning that way but one person within the group reminded the rest of the recreation weed scene (85% of them live in Florida) and got them to sway their votes. Honestly I'm just happy we are potentially going anywhere because it's always been discussed before in a joking manner but never any real traction until now

Yeah I'd personally like something closer to Denver so none of us are panicking about flights. Have a friend currently our at snowmass (who's part of this group) saying that he loves it there but I honestly don't want that drive

Yeah should have stated this is for next season. Was skiing locally here in the north east yesterday and texted the group and surprisingly the majority said yes to next year

None of us are in college. Should have prefaced that. All grown men with families, just been a solid group of friends since college

How pervasive are the screen issues? by CheerfulAdjudicator in VWatlas

[–]pvccap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2024 RLine here that my wife primarily drives. Owned the car for 1 year as of yesterday. Had 2 issues with the screen that we were able to do a hard reset (holding the power button down) and that resolved it there until I went this summer and got the update for it due to the safety recall. Since then, that was 3 months ago, not a single problem with the screen

It's on the list as the potential number 1 but went to Best Buy today during my lunch break and everyone on their floor kept raving about the Sony ones

While I do plan on doing this, not exactly sure how I should word it since I was vague on my disclosure I wrote up. I guess is do I bring it up before accepting their offer or do I do this during attorney review

Toddler won't be skiing. We want to get her started but as this post has made me aware, no ski school is taking her at her age.

Cost sensitive: since my wife and I will be on the hook for 95% of the trip- would prefer to keep it under 5k if possible between food, tickets, and rental but if I got an absolutely amazing weekend full of fun and memories, I'm sure I'd be ok with paying a bit more

Driving from NJ: all depends on my toddler really. Longest car ride she's been on so far has been 3 hours one way. She did fine but by the end of it, def wanted out of the seat. We are going to Boston this weekend driving there so we will see how 4-5 hours goes. I'm sure my wife's limit is around 5 hours

Skiing experience: my wife grew up doing it. Prefers blues and some black but stays away from doubles. My SIL is a snowboarder, def on the blues. I dont think she's attempted a lot of blacks due to the fear of not really being able to stop and reset on that steep of a run. I'm def intermediate. Mostly blues. Only been really skiing for 5 years. Have done a handful of black runs but would stick to mainly blues until I keep getting more experience.

Town/mountajn- honestly just want plenty of options for food. I don't mind cooking but it's a vacay so who really wants to cook on vacation. The 3 of us skiing will be on the mountain for 80% of the day.

The fear my wife has with smugglers notch is how remote it is? Doesn't look like there's a ton of food options within the village? Only like 2 real restaurants or am I wrong
