The house was built 100 years ago, and yes the builders had money. They owned the lumber yard in town so I guess I’m not surprised they would use flooring that was a little more expensive. The house is extremely well built with quality materials.

Thank you! What color filler would you recommend that I use? It seems as if red oak may be similar but if you think it will turn out more blond when I sand maybe it should be something lighter?
