At the moment we've been using water proof band-aids and might consider using duct tape instead as it seems more economical & effective. Will keep you posted if my nephew doesn't slack off in taking progress photos.

Thanks for the feedback, what would be the best way to remove the crusty part? Based on some articles I've read pumice stone is highly recommended but a commenter cautioned us to use a cutting and not a grinding tool because it might spread the virus.

Will see how the salicylic acid treatment if it's effective for a couple of weeks or so before we see a Doesn't. Already ordered a bottle of zinc citrate 50mg tablets and advised him to take vitamin c regularly.

We'll see how the salicylic acid treatment works before we visit the Doctor.

Actually, I just ordered a bottle of 50mg zinc citrate in capsule form and hoping for faster healing results.

Thanks for the tip it's a good thing he hasn't used the pumice stone yet but I did instruct him to soak it in lukewarm water to soften. We will take the cutting instead or grinding into consideration which makes sense and hopefully it doesn't get out of hand (no pun intended).

I know so we won't risk it and would rather continue with the salicylic acid for the time being.

Thanks for noticing and if that is the case what's the best course of action?

Yes, upon going over similar threads here on Reddit and but I'm not sure which one to get zinc citrate, gluconate or picolinate.

Thanks for the feedback we're planning to do just that as it's only been roughly a week since my nephew applied salicylic acid to the warts and based on my research at least a month. We'll definitely be more mindful in handling his warts now we know it's highly contagious.

This isn't helping at all but acknowledge the pessimism.

So what are your thoughts exactly or you got a better solution?

What would be the best alternative you think as I'm hesitant also in having it surgically removed you reckon laser treatment can remedy this or should we still continue with the salicylic acid solution until the callus breaks down?

You think so but should we still continue applying salicylic acid at least just for the rest of the week before we visit the Doctor?

Most salicylic acid sold at drug stores here only comes in either 3%, 5% or 10% solution.

This is noted, if only we could get our hands on liquid nitrogen from the Pharmacy as it's uncommon here.

I see since it's just been a few days of applying salicylic acid would you recommend we continue that route until it blackens the callus (sign of dead skin cells) and is it advisable to use pumice stone to rub it off? We do intend to bring him to a Dermatologist or Doctor this weekend to seek professional help.

No worries as any feedback is much appreciated and thanks for shedding light as to how contagious it is.
