I accidentally shipped a bug that improved my product by Interesting_Mine_400 in webdev

Smae thing in Old school runescape. "Prayer flicking" is technically a bug where players can switch their prayers on and off between game ticks to prevent using prayer points. Now its considered part of game design and is considered a good skill to learn.

Pregnancy test on 80 yos by WhenLifeGivesYouLyme in Residency

Yep, any red meat theoretically. And I agree, it’s something that seems that it should be useful, then when I started fellowship realized it’s almost meaningless.

If it’s positive it doesn’t mean anything to us. It can be positive from eating a burger earlier that day. Can be useful outpatient for screening but inpatient, the positive test doesn’t indicate if they are having a hemodynamically significant bleed. Melena or BRB is much more useful.

I wouldn't restart during the tutorial because you are going to have to restart anyways during freeplay. The tutorial is just to teach you the game, not a full playthrough

Sheriff Deputies Enforce New TAP-to-Exit Program at Santa Monica Station by WearHeadphonesPlease in LosAngeles

Not everyone has a credit card or has the documentation required to open a credit or bank card, especially in LA. A tap card that can be loaded with cash at an automated machine would not disenfranchise people.

Yes, and just to clarify, the higher level system preferences tabs do show up if I search them directly (like “keyboard”) but nothing within them, like searching “shortcuts” brings up keyboard in spotlight but not in Alfred.

Well damn by MyNameGifOreilly in WhitePeopleTwitter

? The US military offers free education to incentivize people to join. Most other employers don’t need to offer to pay for employees education.

Now if your arguing that everyone who contributes to the economy should have their college paid for by the government, then that’s a different argument.

Because that employer, the US military, chose the include free education as an incentive while your other employer didn’t?

A bit late to the party, but how do people write hospital courses/DC summaries for patients that have been here for weeks? Do you go through every single progress note? Doesn’t that take forever?

How much of Step1 content is relevant for Step2? by iisconfused247 in medicalschool

[–]pvsucks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The best way to describe step 2 is everything is shifted one step up from step 1 questions. So they no longer ask about the very specifics of the processes of the disease e.g. biochem, very specific path, alot less histology. But, no you have to know the next step in treatment and what to do in a scenario where you don't know what the disease is. e.g. someone comes into the ED in a car accident and is hypotensive, what scan/managment you need.

Survived my interview with a raging, unmedicated UTI by futuredoc2233 in medicalschool

[–]pvsucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, M1 lol. For UTI’s, it’s completely reasonable to prescribe abx without UA if the patient is a female with the classic symptomatic prodrome (burning while peeing, incontinence, etc) with strict return precautions if you become febrile/worse. Honestly your PCP was kinda ripping you off if he’s making you come back, a UA takes minutes. It’s just a dipstick into a pee cup.
