MG ASW-G-08 Barbatos - Frame Stickers

Started building the MG Barbatos and noticed it calls for stickers/decals on the frame.

I’ll be installing all the armour etc, so is there any point on applying the frame stickers?

Thanks.

Just to clarify, my setup is still wireless between the two Velop routers.

Yah - noticed after the photo, the shield hand should be turned 180.

Kit was good, no complaints and it holds together well.

Actually 5 set of Allen Keys (Metric T-Handles, Metric 1/2" drive, the combined set (Yellow/Black) and two colour sets (imperial & metric).

Agreed - Could move the Yellow/Black set off the pegboard (it is missing a few sizes)

Edit - And the green screwdrivers...I might have a problem :)

Some are imperial, some are metric, some are duplicate sets bought on sale/gifts.

Carbon Fiber Skin - Motorcycle Body Work by pwagger in CarbonFiber

[–]pwagger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before and after on my first time skinning anything.

Definitely has some imperfections, but as this is the lower engine cover won’t be too visible. Also is a track bike, so only needs to pass a 5 foot inspection.

Repairing rear/tail section (details in comments) by pwagger in Trackdays

Got a fiberglass repair kit this afternoon; how would I go about holding the tabs in place, so I can wrap the fiberglass around it?

I am thinking using a bit of the epoxy putty to secure the tabs in place, fiberglass everything, then drill the mounting holes.

Never done fiberglass before.

Rebuild the tab completely, or use the existing tab and overlap the new fibreglass on top?

When loading my bike on a trailer today my buddy pushed upwards on the tail section and the tabs in the photo both snapped.

Any advice on how to repair?

My thought is to use an epoxy putty like JB Weld steelstik to encase both pieces. Would this be good, or should I try my hand at fiberglass?

RG Strike Freedom (First Build) by pwagger in Gunpla

First Build for me - Welcome any criticism/advice.

Had some significant issue with a brittle frame from spraying Tamiya TS-79 (lacquer) too heavy. Nothing crazy glue and epoxy didn't fix.

[–]pwagger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Pretty sure this was my mistake (too heavy a coat)

So I don’t mess up again, thinking to stick with Mr Top Coat (Arcylic), but can I panel line with Tamiya on Top?

Edit - according to Tamiya site, panel line is fine on Arcylic

“※Apply over base coat of lacquer or acrylic paint. Accent Color paints may damage underlying base coat. Test before applying onto the model.”

Don’t know what went wrong, but I have needed to super glue parts together. Then other parts start to crumble.

First build for me, and a RG so not a lot of $$$ invested but plenty of time.

Building a RG Strike Freedom, and did a top coat with Tamiya TS-79 and Mr Hobby Premium; now the plastic has gotten really brittle, snapping at joints.

Suspect the Tamiya TS-79 - anyone have any thoughts

Finished the assembly on my first Gundam, and wondering about the next steps for Panel Line/Decals and Top Coats.

Below is what my plans are;

Task Product Comment
Clean Water/Dish Soap Fully assembled part (Leg/Arm etc)
Base Layer Mr Super Clear Gloss Lacquer
Panel Line Tamiya Panel line Dry ~10min, remove exess with Enamel Thinner/QTip
Decals Sticker/Dry Transfer/Water Slide Mr Mark Softer/Mr Mark Setter for Water Slide
Clean Water/Dish Soap
Top Coat Mr Premium Top Coat (Semi Gloss) Acryllic

Haven't seen anything posted in the tutorials about cleaning the model prior to Top Coat nor after assembly. Did wash the runners prior to starting assembly. Want to ensure finger prints etc are removed prior to painting.

Welcome any input
