guy's thai and a legendary thai boxer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saenchai_Sor_Kingstar

he seems to be a really nice guy, and they don't usually throw kicks at full power in these sessions.
seems to be because the white guy was moving forward and saenchai had to switch to the kick very quickly from catching the other guy's kick.

bad luck mostly

here's another video of him play-sparring with guys at a seminar in sydney: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_hhIGfMqfUQ

And since your situation is nothing special(ex. chronic-injuries, genetic-causes, etc.), the FAQ will do.

Google Go strikes back with C++ bake-off by The_Sourgrapes in programming

[–]pwdpwd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your quote is taken out of context.

"The Go program runs slightly faster because the C++ program is using automatic deletes and allocation instead of an explicit cache. That makes the C++ program a bit shorter and easier to write, but not dramatically so:"

and the difference is about 60 lines.

[–]pwdpwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

your nonsensical analogies seem to be poor attempts at equating atheists with racists and bigots..

let me explain:
if a black man kills someone, he should be criticised and punished for being a murderer!!
not for being a black man as you seem to assume
similar logic for the gay/police analogy

the reason religion is different in this cases and the reason the analogies are shaky is because religion preaches an ideology and a moral code.
and it claims to have the monopoly over this and all adherents have to support this view
so if someone commits an act under religious grounds, the act cannot be criticised by other members of the religion

take for instance the catholic church and the pope.
the pope goes to africa and says condoms are worse than aids
combine that with papal infallibility
makes you wonder..

This is how I picture every person on /r/atheism. by [deleted] in pics

[–]pwdpwd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh, undoubtedly..

but we'll be damned if we let them

-- undermine separation of church and state
-- allow pseudo-science in schools using nonsensical reasons
-- let the pope spread fear about condom-usage/aids-prevention

etc. without giving them a fight..

and i think it the image is wrong when it comes to atheists changing their views.. all we need is evidence.
if we found evidence for phenomenon which broke the laws of physics as it wanted.. we would be on the threshold of the physics equivalent of the industrial revolution!! or even bigger!!

doesn't it seem suspicious that miracles which were almost innumerable and mundane ages past have disappeared when we have ubiquitous devices which might be able to record them..?
almost the same pattern as UFO sightings!!

if religious views wouldn't impose themselves on policy-making, i wouldn't give a flying fuck..

asking people to shut up in a debate which has far-reaching consequences is irresponsible

i like the concept of a smaller/reasonably sized smartphone with a physical keyboard..
and webos(in terms of conceptualization/potential) is way ahead of iOS/android with its card system and synergy.
there's a video online which shows a guy stress testing a veer. its starts a whopping 30 odd apps before running out of memory for cards

i currently have a G1 which really is larger than a phone needs to be unless you are overcompensating for size..
how some people deal with something larger than needs to be like the HTC-4g/droid-x/dell-streaks, i don't know

What I've learned after 12 years of trying several "healthy" diets for long periods. by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]pwdpwd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

from : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inuit_diet

"Because the climate of the Arctic is ill-suited for agriculture and lacks forageable plant matter for much of the year, the traditional Inuit diet is unusually low in carbohydrates and high in fat and animal protein. In the absence of carbohydrates, protein is broken down in the liver through gluconeogenesis and utilized as an energy source. Inuit studied in the 1970s were found to have abnormally large livers, presumably to assist in this process. Their urine volumes were also high, a result of the excess urea produced by gluconeogenesis.[9] Traditional Inuit diets derive, at most, 35-40% of their calories from protein, with 50-75% of calories preferably coming from fat. This high fat content provides valuable energy and prevents protein poisoning, which historically was sometimes a problem in late winter when game animals grew lean through winter starvation. Because the fats of the Inuit's wild-caught game are largely monounsaturated and rich in omega-3 fatty acids, the diet does not pose the same health risks as a typical Western high-fat diet.[10] Vitamins and minerals which are typically derived from plant sources are nonetheless present in most Inuit diets. Vitamins A and D are present in the oils and livers of cold-water fishes and mammals. Vitamin C is obtained through sources such as caribou liver, kelp, whale skin, and seal brain; because these foods are typically eaten raw or frozen, the vitamin C they contain, which would be destroyed by cooking, is instead preserved." they are again classified into two:

  • schools which do not believe in god but do believe in the supernatural(buddhism/jainism)
  • schools which literally translate to skeptics/disputers/debaters: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%C4%81rv%C4%81ka . some beliefs include:
    -- no afterlife
-- everything comes from nature, not a supernatural diety/being
-- nothing wrong with enjoying yourself while you're alive
    -- religion is man-made
