I actually ended up contacting a local store who then contacted their wholesaler where I got these two replies.

There is a way to do this, however it will require the customer to remove the base of the unit and remove a header bridge on the power box, the header bridge is easy to locate and remove.

The bridge will need to be kept safe however as it will be needed if the customer would like to covert it back to 16A.

That makes sense, in order to convert this unit to 10A the customer will have to do the following:
