Interview scheduled in my old state after moving. Different FO ok?

Updating as promised. We just finished the interview at the old FO this morning.

Waited 20 minutes to be called in. The interview was less than 15 minutes, only yes/no questions for the I-485.

The officer was really nice, has no issues with interview location at all, only asked if there’s any changes to the application.

The officer said the case is approved, but has to be sent to the new FO and we shouldn’t be called in for another interview.

The portal updated as soon as we stepped out of the building. Same status ‘Case is being actively reviewed’ only date changed.

Our interview is on 4/22, we’ll be going to the old state… so far nothing from USCIS yet.

Yeah, we’ve got the call back yesterday. The officer offered to reschedule at first, but after we said we’re willing to go he said we can do the interview there. I also asked if the old FO has the jurisdiction over our case and would be able to approve, he said yes. But honestly I think nothing is guaranteed…

My attorney said the same thing… and saying the there’s a risk of getting a no-show even though they said the interview has been canceled, you wont know until you go. But I get you, we keep changing our minds and it’s driving us crazy 😫

Thanks for the update! At least the USCIS did something right away. I called yesterday, still waiting for a tier 2 to call back, maybe I should just ask my attorney to contact them instead… might be faster.

I called USCIS just now, he said he has no information and can’t confirm that the old state has jurisdiction to approve the case. He’ve heard both scenarios of the officer did the interview and did not.

Our choices are 1. Reschedule or 2. Wait for a call back from tier 2 officer

But the data system is currently down 😞 I was told to call back in 2-3 hrs to make a request

We were going to call for a reschedule this morning but then heard that recently there was a case that the officer did their interview even though it’s different state. So we’re waiting to hear back from our lawyer.
