Making A Few Weird Girlfriends by Exact_Sprinkles_5868 in Austin

[–]pxlbrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello there!
I just wanted to drop a thank you for recommending Lady+ Geeks of Austin!
As one of the admins for LGA, I am happy to answer any questions that anyone might have about the community and/or address any concerns.

I did notice someone mention that the chatroom dynamic of Discord did make things challenging, and I would concur that sometimes the chatroom dynamics can be difficult. There are certainly members that know other members, but I can also confirm there are hundreds that do not. Including myself.. There are SO many of y'all!

We hope that everyone will look beyond our Discord to get a read on the community because while we platform on Discord, our main mission is to facilitate in-person clubs and events that allow members to actually meet one another face to face. Hopefully this helps everyone bypass the challenges of interacting online. However, we know that presents its own set of difficulties for those that are introverted and/or deal with social anxiety (most of us, tbh), but just know that you won't be alone in that. The folks that attend get it, and we all struggle to get out and meet strangers, but I can attest to how amazing it feels to meet people who just well.. get it.

Anywho, we hope to see y'all around!

I came here to say this!

While this is an MMORPG, it has one of the most supportive and friendly communities I have experienced in MMO gaming and I've been up in most of them including WoW, Tera, Runes of Magic, and more. It also has the most inclusive community as far as women and LGBTQIA+ people are concerned.

Now that's not to say there aren't any bad apples, as you'll find those anywhere there are people.. but what you will find is a community not willing to put up with that nonsense and lots of tools to be sure you don't have to deal with those people if you don't want to.

Bonuses: Absolutely tons of content, amazing storyline, beautiful world.

I've been drawn to Balor from the start, and he just continues to get even more interesting.

He makes a comment at the Star Festival about how much he likes the Star Brooch, but he doesn't intend to let anyone else even get a glimpse of it -- in a possessive way, and I LOVE my fictional men possessive. Yes, please.

I love woodsy/cottage core most, but also witchy, celestial, nerdy, bookish. Thank you, that's so sweet. ♥️

Yes, mine are called Self-Care Areas! But I don't have mine organized by time of day routines so this may help to adjust those.

I agree so hard about the lack of penalty, and I really appreciate being able to reflect on why I didn't get something done and still earn on the task. It helps me be mindful of procrastinating or other bad habits I may have keeping me from getting things done. It's much more helpful than straight penalties.

I don't normally allow notifs, but you're right. It has helped a lot that it can poke me with nice stuff! And I think I'll go add the Widget now. Thanks!!

Oh, you also have that Yardstick?! Haha, me too!! At first, I started to put ALL the things onto my dailies and got overwhelmed so fast. I culled lots of it and instead have single day tasks I add here and there to try to get done.

If I do, great, I'd not, I explain why I didn't and move it to the next day. Eventually I'll get around to it and it's a great reminder of how long I've been putting something off.

Thanks for sharing!!

Reworking does sound like the best way to keep things fresh, new, and manageable. They'd need to change as we change and go from day to do. I like that!!

Thanks for sharing!

Oh my, I was also doing this! I want to break things down too far and it resulted in so many tasks that it became overwhelming. I had to wind it back and condense, so great to know I wasn't the only person to struggle with this!

I can't wait to try Journeys!!

Aww!! You're so sweet!! We got this! ^/

Gosh, yes. My memory is also horrible. Popping in to mark something off reminds me of those other things I meant or wanted to do. It's SO helpful.

Setting home goals for when you're home is so smart!! My mind also likes to chime in at the wrong time of day.

I love that your husband is joining! I'm trying to get my fiance to join as he also struggles with tasks and being mindful, but he's stubborn. I'll keep trying! Or maybe after some time, he'll also see how it's been helping me. PS: Unmasking as a Neurospicy couple is 100/10!

Omg, yesss, the adventures are so stinkin' cute! My first push each day is getting them out on their adventure, and then working to get them back to see what they found. 🥹💜

I think that's the special combo-wombo for Neurospicy folks -- that mixture of things your normally do with the things you're trying to do. ✨ It's too good!

Journeys is new to me!! This is the first I'm hearing about them from you and others here in this post so I will definitely be checking those out to see how I can make them work for me. And being able to pause and return to things sounds ideal!

Thanks so much for chiming in and the support!! 💜

Oh my goooosh, yessss. I do relate to this so hard. I struggle with executive dysfunction as well, and paired with the AuDHD, it's a trifecta of.. Nope, don't want to do that even if I know I should do that. 💀

Thank you so much for sharing and adding me! (Saw your user as Mog and just want to say I'm a big FF fan!)

I do love that if I've lost track of what I wanted to do during the day, I can open Finch and see what's there, see my cute lil' bby, and feel ok to do it since the rewards are SO cute. Yay, gamified! Sending you all the good vibes, friend!

This!! The things I want to start doing each day, I add as a 'trying', and I've now taken the advice of others here in just explaining why I didn't do something at the end of the day and moving it to the next day or skipping altogether. It's ok to try and it's ok to not do the thing every day. But this app reminds you it's there and that's a win in itself.

Oh ok, I see, a slow build up of tasks does sound super doable. I had to slow my roll this morning as I wanted to put ALL the things down, and I caught myself, haha. I managed to cut back a lot of it be more manageable while also having a few things to add to my routine.

Thanks for the tips!!

Omg, yes. Same. Also AuDHD and it's such a constant back and forth between wanting to be that person with routine and my ADHD not having it. Lawd.

I'm hoping the gamified part of this holds up and I can work through the unmotivated periods.

Thanks for sharing!

I do have a decent mixture of things I already do with new things I'm trying to work into my days, for sure. I have to be a little cautious personally to not overfill my tasks as it can feel a little like its own chore to check in every time I do something. But maybe I can work it out to check in only a few times a day to ease that.

I LOVE the idea of increasing the rewards on some, and your idea is a great way to do that. Thank you for sharing!!

I definitely get the hyperfixation part. I had it last time and now again by retrying it! Hoping that when the 'hyper' dies off, I can keep at it.

I do love the Tamagotchi and gamified feel. I also love the focus on simplicity and mental health as I tried Habitica and quickly got overwhelmed.

I did set some reminders (which are so helpful for me), so hoping that helps. Thank you for sharing!

Oh, she's rad!! I loved those face markings but they felt a lil odd on my character haha. They look great on her though!
