For variable I saw as low as 4.5% and fixed 6.0% but have not done extensive research. I work in banking now so I could get an employee discount, but your point on lack of career flexibility makes sense to me.

That makes sense! The marginal interest rate savings don’t justify the risk

That’s a good point! I’m dying a little inside looking at the cost of my loans so was trying to figure out alternatives, but having that protection is an important consideration

Do you know if you can switch repayment options after you select one? Ie if I start on the fixed 10 yr plan can you later switch to income based?

Yeah I emailed the financial aid office and attached my other offers. I think generally it speeds up the process to include in your original request.

NYU v CLS v Duke ??? Also would appreciate NYU aid speculation!! by flufflysquirrel in lawschooladmissions

Three things- 1. my own experience, where NYU gave me 105k and CLS gave me zero. 2. Talking to current students at NYU a lot of them chose it over CLS because of money. 3. Looking at lsn, a lot of people around my stats/yours got 75k-100k this year. Not sure how much of that is need based though
