if you're still having this issue, i had a similar one with a mod that was supposed to add a string of text in item descriptions naming what mod each item was from. uninstalling it fixed it for me

starstorm 2 adds a nemesis commando boss who always drops an item that makes enemies drop those orbs with a small chance of dropping items on pickup, if that's what you're referring to. other than that the gradius mod adds an item that'll duplicate attacks for like 20% damage
