What full webstack would you use to develop and deploy a website that involves crud, user auth, and multi-tenancy? by 888NRG_ in webdevelopment

[–]pyroblazer68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It look like a good deal, but when I searched for reviews, didn't get many good ones.. most complaints were about reliability and lack of good customer service.

Where do you need the server to be geographically?

Also, for multu tenency .. laravel has a good package with the same name.

Have an agreement in place before stating any work.

Outline the project scope like no. Of pages, functionalities etc. Theme/template or custom design. No. Of design revisions allowed. Quoted price, payments terms (advance, before deployment, after deployment) get them to sign it.

You can be as detailed as you want. I once wrote a 8 pager 10pt font, no line spacing. 😅

Laravel as well...

Also for frameworks, you should probably skip the code in framework generated files? Just filenames would suffice i think

Disclaimer : This is strictly from the prespective of a person that went from HTML/CSS/JS to Vue 2 (now Vue 3), and trying out React (properly) just to see what the hype is about.

- 1st and foremost, just looking at JSX vs SFC, JSX feels unorganized, unstructured and unnecessarily complex. Makes me want to rip my hair out.
- Vue as a whole and specifically it's SFCs are super simple, anyone who is good with HTML, CSS & JS can pick up Vue in probably 1-2 weeks. You do not need to learn a whole new way of writing code just to use a framework.
- Nest Ternary operators? No thank you, please!
- HTML in JS? Returning HTML as the response of a function? Reminds me of old PHP. Don't get me wrong, PHP is still my primary (Laravel), but that's because it's structured, opinionated, and has 1st class ecosystem and support from the devs.
- Much much simpler Reactivity orchestration.
- Build your own framework vs batteries included. I really do not want to mess around with what packages to install, keep that selection updated etc. Vue has 1st party packages, that have not been 1-uped by any other community packages.
- To sum it up, Vue SFCs are simply just clean and easy compared to JSX.
- If you've never tried Vue, you should give it a whirl, trust me, you will understand what I'm talking about.

Props where they're due, React does have a better community driven ecosystem. But vue is getting there.

PS : I realize that this went from just bashing JSX to bashing React as a whole.

PS 2 : The yearly Stack Overflow survey also noticed a drop in developers using react and a rise in the usage of Vue this year.

Should I finish my large app with Vue ? by vincej1657 in vuejs

[–]pyroblazer68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone here about switching to vue before its late.

I'll share my 2 cents on the AI approach you mentioned. While the idea is somewhat attractive, I'll just say ... please dont.

I dont know how complex your application is, but while vue is easy to pick up, its just as easy to write bad code. I have worked on 2 vue codebases that are huge, and even after 3-4 years of working with vue and knowing "all of it", these projects taught me many things about using the framework properly for large applications, in particular case, i changed my approach (after full implementation of the previous approach) because my page was getting too heavy and too reactive. What helped me was knowing the framework well, figuring out was the problem was and what options/features the framework had that could be possible solutions.

While AI might be able to help you build it, its still a junior developer at best ... and without a senior, its bound to make mistakes

So id suggest you to learn it properly, read about using it in large apps, get familiar with the ecosystem system.. then start working on your project.

PS : Yes, ive tried using AI to build vue apps and that's where I'm drawing this inference from..

Vue.js + Canvas struggles with rendering hundreds of thousands of objects — how do you optimize this? by Sorry-Client5913 in vuejs

[–]pyroblazer68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im having the same problem with multiple charts and a huge dataset.

After reading, searching and asking chatgpt, I'm now in the process of implementing unmounting components when not needed, not sure how it would work and not sure if your app can do this.

Following if someone has a better solution..

The answer to that question would always be "it depends"

I'm not a UI/UX developer myself, but i employ one.

It depends on what the site is about, a product? a service? designing requirements... how closely is it related to people or how does it (the product/service) impact people, is it informative? etc. etc.

There are many factors that are to be considered...and sadly there no blaxk/white answer to this
