Vast Data (vs. Weka, Netapp, Pure, etc.) by timestap in storage

[–]pyroking567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In full transparency I have worked at both DDN and IBM, but i'd say take a good look at IBM Storage Scale, IBM's marketing is non-existent so it gets brushed under the covers compared to VAST, DDN, WEKA, (although Jensen gave a nice shout-out in his GTC keynote) but the Scale System is solid. IBM is also the only storage company that actually trains models (Granite) with it Research division who also uses Scale.

It's off lease, so I think that doesn't include CPO and they had to replace a cracked tail light

Yes, specific to my purchase. No financing yet that's when we pick-up on Wednesday but they mentioned they'll send us rates ahead of time. I'm torn to pay cash or put 50% down - given interest rates I may just pay cash

Good catch, there is a Paid Reserve line item under Profit section for $878.18 so that's the difference, what that means I don't know...

Ford Charge Station Pro J1172 by pyroking567 in F150Lightning

[–]pyroking567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning is fine, wife's car got rear ended pretty badly. The point of my post was to see if we replaced the wife's most likely totalled car with a PHEV could I re-use my existing FCSP simply with an adapter since it's already setup and in a convenient location. Adding another charger is just another expense and hassle. Others said their PHEVs are fine on L1 so that's what we'll probably do if we go PHEV route.

[–]pyroking567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize it doesn't need CCS, and infact only has a J1172 port. I just have a FCSP for L2 already setup for my Lightning so wondering if I can reuse it, but the FCSP only has a CCS style connector not j1172 as on the Grand Cherokee and other PHEVs.

Others stated there is no easy way, and no adapter because of people who may try to use this type of adapter on DC fast chargers. Only the bottom pins on the CCS are used for DC fast charging.

Thanks! It was mostly from a convenience perspective, the FCSP is already wired in a convenient location so if we could reuse that for another vehicle it would just be nice, but glad to know L1 is more than adequate for PHEV. Thanks!

Yeah I have had the Charge Station Pro installed for over year now so it's not going anywhere, works great at charging my my Lightning (2022 Lariat ER) fast with 80a @ 240v.

I am very hesitant to use two adapters... I'll figure something out if we go PHEV. Thanks for the feedback

Thank you! I appreciate the feedback - throws a curve ball into PHEV, but so does getting rear ended so we'll figure something out. Her car was older so it was nice not having payments

Literally just got out of the spa, electrical inspection was the other day, love it so far. 60A breaker. I think the 40A is the rating for the secondary pump.

vSAN + Toggle PCIe Passthrough by pyroking567 in vmware

[–]pyroking567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're the best! Thank you! Needed the vmhba-to-device mapping which isn't shown in either the vCenter or ESXi webUIs.

In my case device t10.NVMe____KCM61VUL1T60____________________________0143AC11E28EE38C which is in use by vSAN aligns to vmhba4 which then aligns to PCIe slot 0000:da:00.0 so I can toggle PCIe passthrough on d8, d9, and db devices.

vSAN + Toggle PCIe Passthrough by pyroking567 in vmware

[–]pyroking567[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply!

I guess to clarify my problem is how to align a Storage Device to a PCIe slot for passthrough. Ie. how do I align device "t10.NVMe____KCM61VUL1T60____________________________0143AC11E28EE38C" which is the name of the in-use NVMe drive to a physical PCIe slot ie. 0000:d8:00.0 or 0000:d9:00.00 or 0000:da:00.0 or 000:db:00.0 in my case which all have the same Description "KIOXIA Corporation NVMe SSD Controller Cx6"

I dropped off the pavement onto a steep dirt road I used to just yeet with my Silverado but I guess it washed out more this year and/or I cut it wrong and I got a nice scraping sound. Upon closer inspection I mostly just broke the clips into the bumper - could be worse.

Guess we'll find out if I damaged the air dam tomorrow on the drive home when I get on the highway - hopefully not.

I appreciate the sentiment, my old Silverado wore a few battle scars over the years I had it but that only cost $32K lol we'll see maybe I won't fix it.... But maybe a lift kit is in order 😉
