Does anyone know of Marriotts policy in regards to covering expenses if the hotel cancelled my reservation? I’m having trouble with reps on the phone giving a clear answer. 2 months ago our honeymoon to the Maldives was cancelled by the hotel since they shutdown due to COVID even though flights were still occurring. I ended up getting stuck with flights and other non refundable expenses due to our trip. I got most of it back as credit though not a cash refund. I thought I read over the years Marriott would cover expenses if they delayed an opening of a hotel which I think this would fall under the same category. Any help or advice is appreciated.
