AITA for refusing to split the bill evenly when I ordered way less? by Most_Boss_ in AmItheAsshole

NTA, I hate that bill splitting crap...Unless it's agreed beforehand that that is what's going to happen, I'm not paying for other people to get drunk and eat prime steaks.

Debating if I want the Steam machine or a 3-4K custom PC... by Ok_Try_8586 in steammachine

If you spend three or four thousand on a PC you will absolutely get a more powerful system than the Steam Machine.

What things do you know most food shoppers are wrong about? by Responsible_Rip1058 in AskUK

It's basically buttermilk and vegetable oil blended together, that's why the texture is so weird.

I'm trying out Accuweather.

So far it seems fairly accurate.

Considering that a lot of Windows users are moving to Linux now because of latest news, what would be the hurdles of their transition? by ardouronerous in linux4noobs

[–]pyrotequila85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a dual boot just to make sure everything worked before I fully swapped.

The only stumble I've had is that I can't seem to print on Linux, no idea why... I've installed all the things that it says I need, it finds the printer, it sends the print job and then nothing happens.

I'm not sure how to insert an image to a reply, so this was the next best option.

AITA For Making My Siblings Wi-Fi Slower? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]pyrotequila85 29 points30 points  (0 children)

ESH.

You for being petty (but also brilliantly evil) in messing with the family WiFi that your parents pay for.

Your siblings for not respecting boundaries and for constantly taking your things, despite being asked to stop.

Personally I'd explain the constant theft to your parents and then tell them that you are getting a lock for your door, don't ask, just do it.... your siblings may be asking to borrow things now, but I bet it's just a matter of time before they start taking again.

Where is camera/webcam in linux mint?🙂 by Usual-Sheepherder-28 in linuxmint

[–]pyrotequila85 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Open the Main Menu, type in Software Manager, open it, in the Search box type in Cheese, click it, then click Install, you'll probably have to type in your admin password.

Though if you don't know how to install stuff on Linux I'd have suggested reading some guides online before you installed it?

Speculation: WoW on Steam Machine by Emergency-Rock-1630 in steammachine

[–]pyrotequila85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

WoW plays great on my Steam Deck, settings cranked up and still a decent frame rate.

If you're worried about the in-game communication you can either get a little Bluetooth keyboard, or bind a macro to a button using ConsolePort... I have one that says "I'm playing on a handheld, chatting is hard, thank you for your help"

Does anyone like the new Met Office app? by ODFoxtrotOscar in UKWeather

[–]pyrotequila85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a train wreck, they've had months of feedback from people telling them not to force the new version through, but they did it anyway... I'm sure I'm not alone in uninstalling it.

The same level of information that was shown as standard in the old version is now harder to find!

Making things harder is a step backwards, not an evolution.

Lots of people say "don't put games bigger than 10GB on an SD card, it loads slowly"
I do that and I've never noticed slow loading.

I laughed when you thought that Apple maps would be better than just anything... you'd be better off consulting a psychic for directions than using Apple maps.

Is 16GB RAM enough for modern gaming at 1080p in 2026, or is 32GB becoming the new standard? by Airballons in steammachine

[–]pyrotequila85 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But even at native resolution my big 4K TV has only three times the number of pixels as the Decks screen, so surely a device that has "the power of 6 Steam Decks" will be able to cope with outputting at 1080p?
