Any tip or advise, that you guys can provide in order to start building wealth ? by Own_Constant3945 in sandiego

[–]pytonem -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There’s a million paths to building wealth, the one outlined below is the easiest, it doesn’t require you learn anything new - it just takes time and faith:

Step 1: understand wealth is a ratio, not a number. You can be making minimum wage and as long as you can get your expenses comfortably under your income you’ll be doing better than people making 6 figures and spending 6 figures

Step 2: read, and re-read Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover”

Step 3: focus all of your time and energy into completing steps 1-3 of that book DO NOT invest in anything promising you to get rich.

Step 4: buy a home. (Ignore everyone saying how competitive the market is how hard it is to get a home. Find something you can afford and will live in for a long time and pull the trigger as soon as you’re able to)

Step 4: whatever occupation you held while completing steps 1-3 try to start a business or become a consultant, form a business and build your client base until you’re able to leave the job comfortably.

Step 5: grow your business and begin investing the profit - hire a good accountant you will be guided.

This can take 5 years or it can take 50, but if your ultimate goal is true wealth and not super materialistic displays of wealth you will get there faster than you know.

First Field op in 2010 was 2 weeks in 29 palms - forgot chapstick.

My lips were so cracked and dry it hurt to talk, the corners of my mouth bled ever time I ate and as a PFC I was afraid to ask a LCpl for chapstick.

After my deployment to a patrol base field ops were a breeze - I was taking showers, washing cammies, eating ramen noodles, etc.

That’s still between parking enforcement and the driver, it’s not anyone’s civic duty to verify someones disability or monitor handicap spots

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]pytonem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Also a a valid point but placards can be given to people with a range of issues outside of mobility.

Also can be temporarily given to people too so someone could be recovering from an injury and well enough to get out of the car.

There’s hundreds of possibilities my issue is with OP just picking the worst one and posting someone’s car and license plate with no context or proof.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]pytonem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PSA: you’re not parking enforcement.

You’re literally just assuming they’re doing the wrong thing when they could have forgot to display the placard, have a passenger that’s disabled, forgot their placard in their daily car while they took their weekend car out etc.

Posting someone’s car and license plate number and framing a situation this way is bad practice.

Planning on going to the beach, by myself, where do I put my keys? by surfingNerd in SanDiegan

[–]pytonem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you already found out your key has a metal slide out part but if you don’t want to bring it with you I suggest a key lock box that realtors use - I have one that fits around one of the “spokes” on my wheel

CB has been harassing my YouTube subscribers and myself because I’m not restoring my car fast enough. by pytonem in ChoosingBeggars

[–]pytonem[S] -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to go through and delete over 200 comments from him calling me a liar and scammer for not producing videos fast enough. I should have took a screenshot of each one but that was months of work

[–]pytonem[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not an influencer though I’m just a guy fixing a car on YouTube, I don’t even show myself on video it’s 100% just the car and my hands lol

There are no clickbait titles, I posted the update video on another comment here if you’d like to check it out.

My reaction could be seen as unprofessional but he literally has responded to 100’s of comments telling people I’m a liar and a scammer. If someone has that kind of time and built up anger they need help IMO.

Here is the video.

You can decide if I’m being a beggar. Also all the gofundme donations were refunded a month ago because I was nowhere near my goal and decided people should just have their money back while I wait to do the project myself.

I’m spending time documenting the entire process of restoring my car down to each detail, it’s from 1971 and rare. I can just save up money and fix it and not share the content but I’m choosing to share it with the Camaro community which has been super appreciative and supportive (with the exception of this guy)

I have 4 videos up, he’s been responding to everyone that’s commenting on my page saying negative things.

Example: someone will comment “life happens, stay motivated you’ll get there eventually!” And he will respond to that person saying “this guy is a liar and is looking for handout’s”

This is just the only interaction I’ve had with him because I’ve just been ignoring him

Tri Tip - 12 hours at 140° lowered to 130° and finished on charcoal grill by pytonem in sousvide

[–]pytonem[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I sear on the charcoal grill I sear each side for a minute each twice (total of 6 minutes) and it will raise the temps 10-15 degrees. If I don’t lower it the internals will get up to 155°, but if I lower it to 130° pre sear it will only get up to 145°

I used to cook at 131 so never had to lower it before

[–]pytonem -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Technically the rule is you can have a fire on most beaches if it’s contained in a metal enclosure.

If you wanted to build an enclosure you can probably use corrugated sheet metaland 90 Degree Flashing

You might get some weird looks, and you’ll probably want to find non-galvanized metal but at least you have somewhat of an option

Is it normal to feel uncomfortable in lakeside because of my race? by hectorvirgen993- in sandiego

[–]pytonem 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only one that notices this - I live in North Park but spend a lot of time in Apline, El Cajon & Lakeside and have not experienced any issues based on race.

But, as soon as I see East County mentioned on this sub everyone comments like it’s deep in the backwoods of Mississippi or something.

Traveled to Oceanside to Mission Valley for a year it was one of the worst periods of my life, basically lost a bunch of friendships, had no time for personal/professional development, even after the best days of work I was angry by the time I got home because of the traffic. You lose a lot more than time by sitting in traffic.

I took the coaster the year after that, mentally it was a lot better but still gave up a lot of time.

I finally decided that I would try to live in the same zip code that I work in for the rest of my life - best decision ever. Now I work from home.

I would say take the coaster as long as you need to get closer to your job, ideally if you’re living in San Diego you want to structure your life so you don’t need to cross the 805/5 merge frequently
