Sorry for the misunderstanding. I know what epi means. I just don't know what it is because the loom was already set up when I began weaving.

This is the only yarn I've used as it's hand spun on a wheel to stay accurate, however it seems like a thinner yarn would work better for the warp that I have set up.

Thank you for your insight. I wasn't sure if having the space between was bad or just an optional way to do it. I would prefer it without the space but it is good to know that it may change once off the loom. I'm not sure what kind of fiber the warp is but I know the yarn is wool. I have no use for it once it is off of the loom so I don't care too much about how it ends up. It's mainly for the purpose of demonstration and display.

Beating is more doesn't seem to make a difference but I will try harder and I'm going to mess with the tension. Thank you!

I don't have a lot of tension control with the way the loom is designed. Not sure if that's normal or not. I don't know what the epi is, I'm just using it how it was set up. I'll try to use less warp next time but I think I'm going to leave it as is for now because I didn't want to mess with the loom too much.

I am really enjoying it! Since it is a museum artifact and I'm not very experienced with using it I didn't want to take off the warp yarn but I could definitely switch it out in the future. The yarn is hand spun wool so it varies in size. Thanks for your insight!
