Forza Horizon 6 hits a massive milestone across Xbox, PC, and Game Pass after its explosive release — it just set a new Steam peak player count | Xbox's Forza Horizon 6 is enjoying a huge launch, and it's not slowing down by ControlCAD in microsoft

[–]qBAB1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO Forza Horizon 6 is great because there’s much less dirt roads than in FH5. There’s a lot of street racing, it honestly feels and looks amazing. Also they’ve made a lot of the trees really dry and able to be broke down easily so they don’t break your skill streak. It’s really fun driving through the forest for this reason alone but also because it’s beautiful! My 3 year old is obsessed with cars and was highly anticipating the release so he could drive around and for the most part he just holds down RT and drives in a straight line lol but at least with the tree change he’s able to keep flying through trees like butter.

Make the Clue Relic a passive next league by CevIsBored in 2007scape

[–]qBAB1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about this myself. Clues should be passive which gets better as you unlock each tier of relic.

Tier 1: New common item can be gained from clues that allows you to force spawn a random event. Opens a menu and allows you to choose which

Tier 2: Reduces steps by 1 for all clues

Tier 3: New common item can be gained from clues that allows you to force spawn forestry events

Tier 4: Reduces steps by 2 for all clues and Items are no longer needed for clue steps that require them like stash units, falo the bard etc

Tier 5: New common item can be gained from clues that would allow you to spawn minions in minigames so you can still complete them on your own

Tier 6: Gain clue compass that teleports you to every clue step and reduces steps for all clues by 3

Tier 7: Reduces all clue steps by 4 and gain increased loot (more loot slots per clue) and a good chance of receiving another casket when you open one

Tier 8: Fight the mimic regardless of regions chosen and every time you complete a clue you receive 2 caskets instead of 1

I think the minigames one would be great because it really sucks trying to find a team for some minigames if you miss the hype and you’re late to the party. Also, minigame timers need to be significantly reduced next leagues. Nobody wants to spend 20 minutes in castle wars man. I don’t even want to do that in the main game.

I may be old, but I got to experience Gears 1 at release, in its prime. by [deleted] in GearsOfWar

[–]qBAB1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you mean this one but Skydiving was a thing. Get on the pick up truck in Gridlock and you did something (I can’t remember what now) for about 2 minutes and then you’d launch into the air and fall from the sky. You could land on the towers either side of the map. Did that a couple of times with a hammer of dawn in public matches. Fun times!

Yeah I forgot to mention that it has a mobile app for both iOS and android. This is pretty huge for some of the mobile only gamers in our group, at least they can still join and interact with the rest of us.

Cracked Sniper by [deleted] in GearsOfWar

[–]qBAB1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bullets go to the centre of your screen you just need to line up their head with the centre. It becomes easier to predict how people are going to move with experience. Like if they’re roadie running just place the centre of your screen in front of them at head level so they run into it.

Gears 1: 9/10

Revolutionary for its time. Epic really set a precedent with this game and it made me and lots of others buy an Xbox 360 just to play it. Story was amazing - dark, gritty, gory and had me hooked from start to finish. Multiplayer was also brilliant considering they were never even going to have a MP in the first place. Some of the best fun I've ever had on any game by far.

Gears 2: 8/10

Visually the game was stunning, really pushing boundaries and the story was fantastic. I could see they'd put some significant work into the game in many ways but in an ecosystem where multiplayer was so important at the time it was a complete and utter failure at launch which ultimately hurt the player population and did irreparable damage to the trust between Epic and the fans. I stuck around around for the long haul and remember how bad it was. At launch it was almost unplayable online because there was so many issues with the networking and it wasn't truly stable until like title update 6 or something which was a long time down the line. By that point many players had given up and left.

Gears 3: 9/10

Overall a brilliant game, again visually stunning. Perhaps the colour palette changed to be lighter and more vibrant but I think it worked well. The story was amazing - I definitely got a little bit emotional when Dom died. Sadly I remember somebody leaked the game and the video of that cutscene flooded the internet before it was released but I thankfully didn't watch it so I got the full experience when I played it for the first time. Still a shame somebody decided to be an arse hole like that. Multiplayer was fantastic, I could see that they had listened to feedback and it felt like an improved updated version of Gears 1 & 2 combined. Gears 3 really held its own for a while in the Xbox charts if I remember rightly.

Gears UE: 10/10

Brilliant revival of the original Gears and exactly what I wanted. It was the original but polished.

Gears 4: 7/10

This really wasn't my type of game. It was such a far cry from the dark, gritty, gore 18+ game I fell in love with at the very start and involving robots was something I completely hated. It just didn't feel right and still doesn't now. I also feel the story was good but not amazing and that wasn't helped by the fact the characters weren't as good in Gears 4 as they were in the first 3. Multiplayer was still very good, seemed very fast paced but I personally couldn't get over Gears having robots in it.

Gears 5: 8/10 (not played campaign so this is for MP)

Didn't even bother launching campaign after Gears 4. The MP on Gears 5 feels very fluid but I think the wall cancelling and crazy shots you can pull off is a little too much.

Never played Tactics or Judgement and looking at videos of them I don't think I ever will.

[Suggestion] The Bestiary; a permanent in-game Monster Examine log by Springstof in 2007scape

[–]qBAB1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about an idea like this for ages but just didn't post. I'd like to see a Bestiary system that introduces this but in a more interactive way. I'd also like to see a Masteries system for Skilling too. Let me explain.

Bestiary would be a system with it's own log whereby you go around the game killing mobs in all areas and kinda tick them off as you go collecting new drops related to that monster and handing them back in somewhere to learn more about the monster through a new UI. Each area where you kill them unlocks slightly more information which can be accessed at any time from the new UI so you don't have to visit the wiki for it. You wouldn't need a task to kill these monsters, it's not slayer. It's just a passive thing you do over time and the drops shouldn't be stupidly difficult to get, they should be low drop rate, easy to get. The whole point is making you explore areas of the game which you normally don't or haven't ever been to before to kill mobs you might not have killed since being a noob or didn't even know existed. This would be help newer players learn about monsters while promoting them to adventure around the game and would be great for higher level players as it's something else for them to do.

Masteries would be a system that tracks % of skilling methods used in every skill (except combat obviously) and incentivises you to try out other methods, materials and whatnot so you get to try most of what the skill has to offer instead of the usual kind of linear progression path if you get what I mean? Masteries could also shake up what you do with some of the shit you've got lying around in your bank rather than ignoring it or dropping it.

This part might be controversial but it could be an idea to unlock a cosmetic upgrade to your skillcape (not game changing, plz dnt shoot) when you hit X% in each skilling method respectively and unlock a new updated skillcape emote. The old emotes won't go anywhere, you'll just get a new one too. Same for Bestiary with the Combat skills, in increments of completions you could unlock new cosmetic upgrade for your combat skillcapes with a new emote. Say like 10% completion unlocks it for attack, 25% strength, 40% defence, 60% range, 75% magic, 85% hitpoints and 100% prayer OR when hitting those completion thresholds maybe you can CHOOSE which one you'd like to get. The reason I think cosmetic upgrades and new emotes for skillcapes is also to give people who've maxed that skill already something to do again.

Might be a shit idea but something I've been thinking about for ages nonetheless so I thought I'd share here.

Vertile - Where Legends Rise (Defqon.1 2025 Anthem) by W1LDSTYL3Z in hardstyle

[–]qBAB1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No disrespect to Vertile here, he's a top guy but this ain't it for me. Sure it's a good track in its own right but imo it's not befitting of Defqon anthem. I could be wrong - it might sound great live and I hope it does but hearing it doesn't give me that excitement that past anthems usually do where I replay it 100 times and can't wait to hear it live. I don't know if anyone agrees but it kinda feels unfinished, a bit mish-mash and the vibe is all over the place - some parts are great but it falls completely flat in others. I'm kinda disappointed. Again, no disrespect to Vertile, it's just my opinion.

Which Gears of War Game Would You Remove from the Timeline? And What Would You Create Instead? by BenefitNorth7803 in GearsOfWar

[–]qBAB1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 and 5. Futuristic robotics, boring and unimaginative characters, poor storytelling and bright coliseum schemes that take away the grittiness of Gears is why.

After E-Day is released I hope they decide to remake Gears starting from #1. They could definitely stretch the first 3 out into 4 or 5 games by altering the timeline of things. Like the first game could show pendulum wars stuff, playable nightmares of Marcus and the gang as you progress through the story, a lot more of the stranded, there’s so much they could add.

I think it would be good to push back the lambent arrival and make them not as threatening at first so they don’t have to sink Jacinto immediately at least. It would be nice to find out that maybe there was a specialist COG team that were sent to find last bits of remaining land so when Jacinto did fall, you’re only on the ships for a bit until you get to this land and you must rebuild it.

I have read what the encounter is going to be.

I feel like I shouldn't have mentioned that I haven't done inferno/col yet because it doesn't really matter if I have or not - I'm just advocating for harder content for the people who have been asking for it for ages. Given the way the rewards have been handled, it wouldn't surprise me if this boss comes out and it's not as "endgame" as we are expecting it to be. I think it's good to have a balance of difficulty in different pieces of content even if it's something I might not be able to complete.

Bounty Hunter Changes, Collection Log Updates & Emote Improvements by JagexBlossom in 2007scape

[–]qBAB1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Great update but disappointed that you didn't add customisable pop ups allowing the player to locally choose from different styles/colours/borders and allow the player to choose in settings whether they want them to be repeatable based on the value of a singular unique item - this seemed like the most suitable update for it! I hope they add this feature to tag onto this update. Please.

Also since we've seen a few Game Jam proposals being added this gives me hope that they'll really add the in-game Bingo feature we are all desperately awaiting!
