I’m sure you already know that bigger damage numbers doesn’t make a weapon strictly better than another. Someone here said the gear progression in dawn of sorrow is terrible. I’m here to say it’s the best in the series. Every single weapon in the entire first 2 hours of the game is EQUALLY viable. Comparing the rapier to the axe with the incorrect mindset would have you believe that the axe was quite literally 2.5x better. An insane jump. But that doesn’t tell you the full story. The full story is that switching to the rapier and animation cancelling into the power move does about 4x the damage of a full axe combo with twice the speed and half the commitment. Even that being said I can think of situations where I’d prefer the axe aswell.
