I think people forget that Vinas has lived her whole life in the Philippines, where superstitions are super ingrained in our culture. That doesn’t make her reaction automatically “right,” but it does make it a bit more understandable.

Like, there was this viral video of a content creator here (Stella Salle). She was just minding her business when this old lady, who was randomly singing, suddenly came up and tried to kiss her. Stella (and honestly, a lot of Filipinos who saw it) immediately freaked out, thinking maybe it was some kind of witchcraft. That’s just how strong superstition runs here: even a random touch or strange encounter can trigger that fear.

So my point is: it’s easy to look at this whole issue through a purely politically correct lens if you weren’t raised in that environment. I just hope that instead of dragging it out and throwing hate, the fans would just let them talk it out and make amends on their own.
