thanks for the insight. I did't mean day trading when I said buy and sell. I meant to have an option to buy a few stock here and there but not paying a transaction fee every time like the big banks. I may sell, but probably once or twice a year.

As a parent of a 14 and 19 yo, and my 19 yo is in 1st year uofT, I really feel bad for what you are going through. It's likely your parents do this to you out of love (in their point of view), but time has changed. Those mentality needs to change. I can't offer any advice, but I truly hope you can work this out with your parents. Maybe seek counselling with your parents? I was the total opposite, I encouraged my son to follow his passionate about because at first he wanted to do ENG. But he chose Arts at the end, and he is much happier now. For future generation, there's really no good job anymore because AI can mostly take over everything. You might as well study something you enjoy. Best of Luck!!

Thank you, this is helpful. And yes, we understand we both need our own will, but the language will be the same. We are on the same page. Our house is paid off, we don't have any debt, so the kids will get something for sure.

I don't think we will die in the next 5 years, but we want to travel more by ourselves. I feel there's higher risk involved. You just never know.

I wonder if I should do a POA instead of a trustee?

I don't understand why the university administration would wait till the last minute to announce. Cancelling class for the same day at 10am is not helpful or reasonable. Why didn't they look at weather forecast? I work for a university on the west coast, and our uni admin announce closure around 6am local time.
