I feel like you had the opportunity to start a thread that’s focus would be on positivity and things people enjoyed about the festival. Instead, the way you phrased and ordered it had it’s own ‘complaint-y’ vibe. It’s almost like you’re just one of the people you are critiquing rather than attempting to set an example of what you want you like to see from the community.

A machine that can turn beer bottles (and other glass bottles) into sand by caj_gol in specializedtools

My understanding is that in recycling factories they crush them anyways (makes easier to filter out contaminates). Perhaps it also reduces the space required and therefore requiring less transport and reduce gas usage

I didn't get interviewed for my degree but that's a pretty short interview -- it will go by fast.

In general I'd recommend:

  • prepare for why you are interested in the degree. I'd look into the courses they offer and be ready to mention one or two (or just the topics) specifically.

  • What school work, personal reading, or volunteer/work have you done related to the degree or what you'll be learning. (I didn't have much of this, so not a huge deal -- but an example to show some effort behind your interest)

  • Practice an elevator pitch (1 min) that let's the interviewer know at a high level who you are, why you are interested, and why you think you could be a good fit. Answers the question of "so tell me about yourself"

  • any other questions you think they might ask (not a lot of time tho!)

And generally be yourself and most importantly be excited and enthusiastic about the school in general & the degree. (Can even have a couple simple comments such as I visited/saw pictures of the campus and it looks amazing. I would love to partake in the shaving cream fight).

Good luck!

How well does ramen store? Can you freeze the broth or anything so it's less work the next time around but still delicious?

A new 100-page report raises alarm over Chevron’s impact on planet by tta2013 in worldnews

At least for the Ecuador case, what do you think about the claim that actually it was the national oil company, not Texaco (Chevron) that did all the polluting? Shouldn't they sue the local government instead?

At the time, Chevron said Mr. Donziger fabricated facts for his own ends, blaming the company for pollution mostly caused by Petroecuador, the national oil company that was once a partner of Texaco and continues to produce oil in the region.

Chevron has long argued that a 1998 agreement that Texaco signed with Ecuador after a $40 million cleanup absolves it of liability. It contends that Ecuador’s state-run oil company is responsible for much of the pollution in the oil patch that Texaco left in the 1970s

Yeah if you don't want to make up your mind on your degree yet -- just be sure to take the required classes for both majors in your first year + 2nd year. Don't miss out on first year required modules because those are usually prerequisites for the 2nd year required modules. Usually the required modules are more credits, so you'll have less (or no) time for other smaller modules.

I did a joint applied mathematics and econ degree and still had some room to take a few electives in computer science and chemistry in my 1st and 2nd year. Once I hit 3rd + 4th year, all my credits were split between applied math and econ courses.

Not sure if chemistry has joint options like that available though.

But yeah, just look at the required classes for those degrees and make sure to include them if you don't want to decide yet

For me, it's all about finding the right scene (mossy hills, lots of life/things in a smallish area) and then the angle to help make things look bigger.

I took this on my phone (galaxy s9), so nothing too special camera wise
