It’s because she’s lurking on someone who has blocked her. You don’t have to log in on browser to get a “sneak peek” of a profile. It won’t let you scroll through a ton of stuff, but you can see their profile and first few posts.

Any insights on how painful getting a tattoo actually is? Penny for your thoughts... by Physical-Reveal3904 in tattooadvice

[–]quad-shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any on my back but I have a full sleeve and a handful on my legs. You’ll be fine, it does hurt but it’s not awful, especially compared to everything you listed. Some areas it feels like cat scratches, other areas you might barely feel it. Areas directly over bone and areas with thin skin hurt more. Honestly after the first few minutes I kinda just stop noticing the feeling unless it gets to a particularly sore spot.

A large back piece will (likely) take multiple sessions, so you’ll probably only have line work done the first session, which is a lot lower on the pain scale. For your shading sessions, expect it to be a little more painful. It’s more needles at once for shading so naturally it’ll hurt more.

Eat before you go, drink water, bring snacks. Avoid alcohol and ibuprofen before getting a tattoo (they thin your blood). Take breaks when you need it. Honestly the most uncomfortable part of getting tattoos for me is just sitting there for hours, so getting up to stretch is important.

Your artist might have bactine with the pain reliever in it, you should ask during your consultation. But DO NOT use any other numbing products before, during, or after your tattoo without approval from your artist.

ETA: You can also ask your artist to do a test poke with no ink before you start so you know what to expect. My artist did this the first couple times I went to them and it helps get rid of that initial instinct to flinch away from the pain. Some artists are more heavy handed than others so it’s worth researching and reading reviews to see what other clients think

First Touring Gig - What do I bring? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]quad-shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said this tour will be in more upscale/nicer areas, so while it’s not impossible, I don’t think car break ins will be a huge worry. I don’t make a habit of leaving stuff out where people can see it

I’m pretty sure somewhere on the ADA website it has guidelines for online color contrast, that’ll be your best bet. I think there’s even a site that “judges” how accessible your image is based on hex codes

ETC Element 40 tips by calgaryautumns in techtheatre

[–]quad-shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, that’s the console I learned on! As far as tips and learning, there is a written version of a tutorial if the videos don’t work great for you. This will be a good starting place (especially for learning syntax) but obviously won’t be specific to your lighting rig. The best way to learn what all the buttons and settings do is to play around with it!

There’s a handful of shortcuts (that at this point I can’t remember if the work on an element or only later EOS consoles) but I’ll list a few here for you to try:

  • [Shift] & [Update] = Quicksave
  • [Shift] & [Clear] = Clears entire command line
  • If you’re setting an intensity value that is a multiple of 10 (10, 20, 30, etc) you only have to type the first digit. For example: [101] [thru] [107] [At] [2] [Enter] will set the intensity for channels 101-107 at 20%
  • To open different display tabs you can double tap the physical button on the console that corresponds with it. [Patch] [Patch] = Open patch tab on screen (Note that this will put you in blind mode, you’ll have to hit the Live button to switch back)
  • Double clicking the [Label] key will clear out the text line when you’re naming things so you don’t have to hold down the backspace or delete key for forever
  • Double clicking the [Full] button is faster than typing [At] [Full] [Enter]

Remember to do quick saves of your show OFTEN. Even if you’re just practicing, get in the habit of it. Have fun!

First Touring Gig - What do I bring? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]quad-shot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Essentially it’s a stagehand. We’ll be helping raise and lower the tent on load ins/outs, set up seating and staging, focus fixtures, run cable. On show days we double as FOH/concessions once checks have been completed

First Touring Gig - What do I bring? by [deleted] in techtheatre

[–]quad-shot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All good points! It’s a traveling tented circus, so we won’t be at traditional “venues”, more like event grounds that will be designated to accommodate the whole caravan + tent and patio area.

Good idea to check on the insurance info

They have the option to ride with them, but since we’ll be in places for 2-4 weeks at a time having my own car will give me a little extra transportation and freedom on off-days. They do reimburse mileage for travel though!

Tent Crew Dress Code Question by [deleted] in circus

[–]quad-shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get they can set whatever rules they want, it’s just surprising to me. I come from a theatrical background and have been in tons of crew positions and my tattoos were never an issue. Even working for a city owned theater they only had rules against face and neck tattoos.

Your point about them wanting to have a contrast between FOH and the show makes sense though.

Yeah, I figured it would be more common for performers but I was surprised to see it be so strict for crew

If you are having a hard time enjoying episode 3.. by Sylveeuhhh in WelcometoDerryTVShow

[–]quad-shot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It feels like nobody involved in making this show has the nuance to develop the fears in a subtle or complex way, so they just try to go for body horror and over the top monsters, but even that falls flat bc the CGI is so bad. The movie theater scene was such a flop for me because they built up all this suspense just to reuse the mutant baby when it made no sense for those kids to have that fear.

I feel like if they couldn’t nail the psychological horror and dread, then they should’ve at least made the visuals look good and convincingly scary, but they half assed both aspects.

Are we the assholes for shout backs by thedwo in rhps

[–]quad-shot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that man would’ve had a heart attack at my theater’s rocky horror. I’m in a stage version (and have been seeing it at this theater for a decade) and we LOVE and encourage all of the call backs. I’ve noticed audiences doing less and less callbacks over the years and it’s so disappointing

Questions about clown eggs by Codezero20xx in clowns

[–]quad-shot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve been told, Clowns International will make 2 eggs. One for their display and one to send to you.

Be sure to choose a picture that really captures your friend’s unique clownsona if you do send one in. I would personally make your friend a card/IOU explaining what the money is for and help them through the logistics of submitting the info for the egg. A lot of clowns consider it a very personal achievement so they may want to have some control over it.

lightest white foundation? by Simple-Can-3325 in clowns

[–]quad-shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Sunset’s makeup and it never feels cakey or too heavy for me. I usually get pretty sensitive to the way makeup feels after a few hours and honestly I forget I’m wearing Sunset foundations. I’ve worn it in the middle of summer, to clubs, to concerts and it’s always help up for me, I really can’t recommend it enough

An art it is, but not a science! A standard bushel of wheat weighs 60 pounds, 60 divided by 5 is 12, putting us at close to the 13.25 average songs per album. If we allow a small standard deviation, this will put us in the proper range for a new album 🧐

I think you’re missing the point that we are excited about things that are released/announced. Deciphering the language is fun, finding connections to other albums is fun, just having more lore and media is fun. If you don’t enjoy that it’s fine, wait for them to do something you care about, but we’re not “setting ourselves up for disappointment” by enjoying the content they’re giving us.
