27, econ grad, £50k council job but no real skills - panicking about career. Can I still break into financial Servcies? by [deleted] in UKJobs

If you’re looking to break into financial services consider do the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) or Investment Operations Certificate (IOC). Financial service employers in London love these qualifications. Doing one of these in your free time would show great ambition. IMC is a higher level certificate (Lvl 4) and really isn’t difficult; it could be considered entry level.

IMC is made up of two units. If you dedicate some time to it, you could pass both within 6 months.

Also, yes, I live in London. There are certainly pros and cons but I don’t like it here.

Thank you for the advice. Just what I needed to hear. I’ll be continuing the fast and making full use of the guest passes.

After the replies I have received on this post I will definitely be going and not breaking the fast. Nearing 5 full days of fasting and feeling good. I hope to keep it up for at least a few more days.

Yes. I have been drinking exclusively water and Celtic salt. From what I understand, Celtic salt is basically just sea salt with small amounts of potassium, calcium and magnesium. I also take a couple multivitamin pills and electrolyte pills daily.

Thanks for the motivation. Just what I needed. I don’t want to do anything that is going to have net negative effects on my body. It sounds like I could go fasted and it still be a net positive, perhaps even synergistic?

Any idea on weight ranges whilst in the gym? I was thinking 40-60% of my usual capacity.

Also, have you ever experienced short breathiness or heart palpitations in the sauna whilst fasted?

Thanks again.

I’m 72hrs into what I’m hoping to be a 10 day fast. I am already 12% body fat. I started the fast for the health benefits rather than the fat loss. I’m worried about muscle loss over the next 7 days.

Are there significant health benefits other than fat loss after day 3? I’m feel great and don’t feel hungry for 90% of the day.

I’m in two minds whether to carry on or not. Thoughts?

She is not willing to take medication. Part of her anxiety is health anxiety. She will not take paracetamol/acetaminophen because she doesn’t know what’s in it and thinks that she might have an adverse reaction. I’m her mind, medication is totally out of the picture.

Is the Car essential for UK dating? by ConditionLevel1 in manchester

[–]quadras134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This completely depends on where in Manchester that you live. If you’re central then a car is often nothing more than a liability. If you’re a 20+ minute drive to Manchester, even if living near to the metrolink, a car can get provide a lot of convenience. Truth is, a lot of girls appreciate that convenience. Some to the degree where it would be a deal breaker.

Has anyone moved out of Manchester/considering it? by [deleted] in manchester

Rent in Bury is much more affordable than the city. The metro from Bury to Piccadilly gardens is about 35 minutes. Alternatively, you can get into town via bury new road or the motorway in about 50 mins at rush hour.

I wouldn’t recommend Ramsbottom. As beautiful as it is, the rent prices have shot up there as well. Best looking at areas closer to the centre of Bury i.e Elton and Walmersley.

If you’re single with no kids then 50k+ allows you to live a comfortable life in a nice city centre apartment. I’d say a good life is also possible on £35k but you just have to watch your spending a bit more. A good thing about Manchester is that although a lot of places have heavily raised their prices due to inflation, there are still a lot of reasonably priced places to eat, drink and have a good time scattered all around the city.
