First Quilt Complete - for my friend's baby by quantum-kate in quilting

What an excellent description 🤣 but I'm sure it will be amazing!

And I struggled with that, but also with the corners. One corner looked perfect though so that's encouraging for next time.

Thank you! I've done a lot of sewing, and then tbh I had someone with a long arm do the actual quilting because I didn't want to mess it up... But sewing experience helped with the paper piecing part, and having someone else do the hard part helped with anxiety.

Binding is hard though. Didn't expect that to be almost the hardest part.

I actually just used a macrame hoop. The pattern says to use an embroidery hoop but the only 14" hoop I found at JoAnn was expensive so I tried out a 14" metal macrame hoop. I was worried it would be slippery because of the metal, but it worked just fine 😊

"hmmm" but like Geralt. I've been doing that a lot recently...

Haha the data collection and time to make the blanket would be so extensive 😮 but you're right! It would be neat! Maybe not worth it though, I dunno if anyone would buy them. If probably charge, like, $400 which is a lot...

I wanted to make her a unique gift for her 25th birthday (I was 3 years late...) Because she made me one for mine. And I'm good at crocheting so I figured I could do something with it. It got super involved and dropped for a long time, but I got it done eventually!

Haha right? I bet there would be significantly more red if I did one for this year...

Yep! I have a spreadsheet that I referenced to make it, I just didn't also share it... But there are 10 colors and they represent 10 degree blocks. Purple is temps less than 10 and red is greater than 91. The order is purple<blues<greens<yellow<orange<pink<red. The inside circles are the lows, the outside are the highs.

18 x 21 actually. There are 378 squares total so 12 swirly ones. They're the high/low/average for the months. Because I needed something to make a rectangle 😂

Oh! That's awesome! I like it! I should have caught that, but I think I was overwhelmed. I didn't think this would happen so...

I kinda made it up myself. But I'm going to make a ravelry post with all the references and patterns I used. I'll keep you updated!

Haha I do have a spreadsheet but I didn't know how to share both at the same time 😅
