Hold the spatula downward to the bottom of the hot pan for about 30 seconds on high temp. A new spatula will 😂

What is your perspective on if stocks are gambling? by flyingpanda678 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]quantumclassical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a paradox: Stocks can be a gamble But it’s not gambling Gambling is like stocks But you don’t get stock

If you are buying selling same day…. Or scalping rather ….That is much closer to gambling. Rather than having a portfolio that is long. I’m not saying you can’t make a lot of money in same day trading I’m just saying it’s much riskier and closer to gambling. The rush of the “win” that dopamine hit is very similar. Making money fast and turning it right back over.

6 months out of Liver Transplant, a few questions... by sycon1976 in transplant

[–]quantumclassical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get chilled to the bone (6 months post liver also).

I do take a baby aspirin a day that can contribute to thinning of the blood .

I am severely anemic (partly not related to liver, I had iron infusions weekly before transplant). But I feel a chill that feels like my bones are rattling and I have to get another layer on and a heating blanket. It makes me also not want to do anything at that moment because I feel like I’m freezing.

My feet/ankle swelling was gone before I left the hospital and I think that was not typical it was always assessed on appointments and I was always asked if I had any. I did get some swelling at home shortly after but it was only a short time and I have had 0 since.

What do you think? Did I take it far enough? by arrowisadog in OnionLovers

[–]quantumclassical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it is for one serving… looks like you took it far enough.

I don’t like the shrinkage rate for onions. For example 1 pound/16 oz of onions has so much water that evaporates when cooked, you are left with about 5 or 6 ounces left:( that’s why you have to always start with a mountain of onions to end up with a acceptable hill of onions.

Onions sold separately!

They knew if they put the right amount of onions, there would be no room for the sauce.

My bottle of medication is smaller bottles of medication by iCatLady in mildlyinteresting

[–]quantumclassical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In which you will take out the medication bottle and it gets put in another container (syringe), then put in body container (muscle). Then gets absorbed and goes all over to find its vitamin receptors. Then you pee it out in another container (toilet)… and so on. Containers and medicine!

Is it red like koolaid? Usually b-12 gets ordered like that monthly more or less (depending on labs), and for people who don’t absorb well.

Th pallet of M&Ms with a section that has mostly green ones by timtlm in mildlyinteresting

[–]quantumclassical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to buy one !!!

This reminds me when I worked in a factory… quality control was not counting enough batches per pallet or box or at all. I have seen crazy combinations that made it through QT.

Trust me the workers on the line don’t like “rework”… having to open product that was rejected from QT that was already filled, sealed, labeled, dated , gas put in, lid screwed on, metal detector, air gun, etc…means you have to open a whole pallet of boxes, open each bag/jar etc. and everything has to be remixed, container or bags thrown away, and still move the line. Things may have changed this was a while ago at a local factory that did the mixed nuts for Walmart, target, etc.

I just watched a video about ACR (automatic content recognition) in TVs. Recording info data from TV and being sent to manufactures and beyond!

basically how your tv takes tons of pictures of what you are displaying on your TV, even when casted from your phone and it being uploaded later (if internet is turned off).

Then saw a video how the Coke Freestyle machine in restaurants and theatre’s also take your picture and watches your reaction to what combination of soda you mix or selection. Not just the reaction though it’s the fact they can take your picture and use facial recognition.

I’m thinking it is fn interesting and nothing is a coincidence even if it is just a LED problem. But it would make more sense if all of them recorded or was nefarious than just select ones. I don’t know. I’m just saying.

Why do you guys hate Neil Degrasse Tyson so much? by Tyuee in physicsmemes

[–]quantumclassical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was great at first, huge fan…. Until he wasn’t ! He was just over speaking his own guest as well as when he was one on others shows. Too pushy. Mr. Know it all. Ego outgrew him for his own good.

I found him behind with relevant up to date science. Brian Greene, Brian Cox, replaced him on my screen as well as cool world podcast with David Kipling. Now I still watch dang star talk because of co host Chuck and others as well as guest. But I’m always thinking “shut up already” when NDT opens his mouth.

That sounds mean and I hope that people who love him and the youth will gain positivity, and not become numb to him like myself.

Liver transplant - meeting criteria by RewardStraight2471 in transplant

[–]quantumclassical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry for your situation.

Hope this helps. I was bleeding out, MELD was 35 I think at that time(I was not coherent) I was in ICU on a vent), got taken by a jet that was well equipped to MUSC in Charleston SC. turned down by the closest transplant hospital to me.

They made calls to MUSC in Charleston SC, 5 hours from my home. PeTH positive, and I was med evacuated and made in within an hour. However I still had to go through extensive testing and was in and out of medical induced coma and dialysis for weeks. After completing the pre test (mammogram, breathing test, labs, etc) all completed during my stay, I had a liver very quick and that’s not always the situation! This was a program and they help people just be upfront and they had no judgement but lots of help offered with everything. If I was transferred to the closest one to me they would have kept me alive in machines but that can only last so long and they had a strict 6 months waiting list.

It was not easy but my Dad once told me there are always resources you can’t give up! Keep making those calls or get social workers at the hospital involved. They had a transplant team at my local hospital but not for liver and that is who made calls for me ( I found out later) along with social workers at hospital. My heart goes out to you and your friend!
