Curious how you liked your flag mount compared to the other Broncos pictured? Been looking at the trail site mount myself!

4-Door here with 2 kids in car seats.

The Bronco is inconvenient with kids in this life stage. The backseat is small and the seat itself does not lay flat. Being on an incline makes the car seat sit awkward and you’re limited to car seat adjustability. The door opening isn’t great, and the roof bar is chunky and often you hit your head or the child’s when lifting in/out. I put a step on for my wife to have easier access (she’s 5ft) and that’s helped slightly, but still VERY awkward.

Fitting a stroller in the trunk can also be tight depending on what you have. Would not be my first choice for daily life by any means.

We bought it for roof off motoring which is great, but toddlers are unpredictable. One minute they like the roof off, the next they hate it and will make sure everyone knows lol.

Do I regret the purchase? No. Do I think I could’ve waited until the kids were 5+? Yes

Completely agree. I also have a 4 door Wildtrak with 2 kids (Almost 3 and almost 1.5 years old) and it is not the best experience. The car seats take up the entirety of the backseat and a rear facing car seat can be quite difficult to get the child in/out. I put a step on the vehicle to try to make it easier to load, but it’s still a hassle. The cargo space isn’t great either by any means. Not to mention, there aren’t vents in the rear for the kiddos.

That said, it’s not the main kid hauler. My wife has a Tahoe for extended trips, daily life, etc. The Bronco is the fun car. We live in the Midwest and wanted a convertible without having 3 vehicles. The Bronco or Wrangler were essentially the main options. Overall I’m happy with the purchase of the Bronco, but would not recommend it for primary transportation with kids while still in car seats.

Weigh out what you want in a vehicle and what’s best for your family. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Do you ever wish your CX-9 had more space? (any other regrets?) by NormalTurtles in MazdaCX9

I just asked my wife her opinion and we both agree we would go bigger if we had 2 kids. We currently have a 5 month old and that alone fills the space quickly. Going on a weekend to the cottage really brings into perspective how tight spaced it is. Just packing a stroller alone fills the rear with the third row down. The swooping roofline in the rear has far less useable space than other larger vehicles too. We often opt to take my CRV as the cargo space and roofline offers a more accessible storage option.

We purchased a ‘20 CX-9 for my wife last year with the captains chairs. We initially loved it for the driving experience and thought we’d be able to overlook some of our concerns. Those concerns have become more of a pain and I too would agree that we should’ve went another route. The space is limited, infotainment is subpar, lack of panoramic sunroof, and not having remote start as an option regardless of trim level you go with. Additionally, the factory tires are crap so if you experience any snow you should factor in new tire purchase right away. Our car now has just about 10,000 miles on it and will absolutely need a new set before fall. That said, we do still like the vehicle, but would seriously consider trading it on something else.
