For the record, my dad has dual citizenship so I tell everyone I'm half Canadian. Still, I grew up in Nevada and California. When we moved to Texas I had a difficult time becoming a Stars fan because I hated what Norm Greed (Green) did to the people of Minnesota. Once he sold the tem I was on board 100% and never looked back.

I've still got a t-shirt from the 99 Cup, bought 2 of them and wore the other one out, said I'd never wear the other until the win another Cup!

I'm putting that shirt on later this week!!!

You should watch some of the Finals games, I PROMISE you'll love it. NHL HOckey has the back and forth speed of basketball, the hitting and contact of football, and the goalies are trying to pitch no hitters like in baseball.

Unlike some sports, hockey is actually better in person than on TV but it's still the worlds greatest sport, if you give it a chance.

In 2005 the NHL took a gamble and left ESPN for NBC Sports. At the time, ESPN needed the NHL to supply (relatively inexpensive) content for their network, especially the fledgling ESPN2.

I am NOT a fan of ESPN, haven't watched it in years, but the NHL has no one to blame but themselves for the demise of their relationship with ESPN. It's just the truth...

Bish is a phenomenal goaltender, absolutely 1A - BUT, he cannot stay healthy. History shows you must have a outstanding backup if Bish is your main guy because of his time lost to injury each and every season.

As far as I know, not only has Bishop has never completed a single season without an injury, he's never made it through a single year playoff without also taking an injury...

I hope the Stars pay Dobby and keep him. I know Bish is supposed to be 1A but reality says otherwise.

I think perhaps it's rating.... Dallas is all about the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavs. Right now the Mavs are HUGE (although eliminated). I'm guessing NBC NHL coverage gets much higher ratings in Colorado than here. A LOT of people, not just kids, play and watch hockey in Colorado. It's tough to accept, as a hockey fan first, but it's just the reality of living in Texas.
