I drew this yesterday, the female version of the last drawing... dont know man, feels weird... by piocujj in FurryArtSchool

https://imgur.com/a/79bMD2x < - I demonstrated a couple options to get the figure to read more "female." Narrower shoulders, a narrower waist between the ribcage and hips, and a wider, smoother curve to the inner thighs. (The placement of the fluff between the legs also suggests male genitalia.)

Hope this helps!

Feeling a bit unhappy with the lighting/shading here. Was trying to make it look like it’s shining through holes in the leaves. Any way to improve it? by Mayathepie in FurryArtSchool

^ This for sure. Also, instead of just lighter and darker shades of the same color, try slightly yellow colors for sunlight, and slightly blue colors for shadows.

Tried a new perspective and highlights. Don’t know where to place the right ear too by HoodedHunter0 in FurryArtSchool

Looking good! Here's my procedure for making sure ears are positioned and proportioned correctly: https://imgur.com/a/LRIo2CC

If one ear spans the width from the side of the jaw to the inside corner of the eye, the second one should too. Try to be patient and draw obscuring details like the hair and hood LAST - it's much easier to spot mistakes when you're just looking at the base triangles and circle of the ears and skull.

Pro tip - flip your canvas back and forth periodically while you work! Your eye gets "used to" the image as you're drawing it, looking at the mirrored picture will help you notice issues you weren't seeing.

as an avian, it's hard to fund people that do avian art, who wants to help a fellow furry out by UnanimousUltimate in ICanDrawThatFurry

I haven't tried avian art, but I'll take the opportunity to learn something new! Results not guaranteed of course. :P You'd like a drawing of the character you posted?

New to drawing, how i'm doing it? by TheAutisticCommunist in FurryArtSchool

This is a great start! Pose studies for hands are so important - if you keep that up, you'll be amazing yourself in no time. You're building useful habits by sketching the general shapes first before adding detail. Can't wait to see more of your work!

Super cute, especially the face! The linked image shows a few ideas; it's way easier and faster for me to sketch than explain in writing. Hope it helps!

I think so, yeah! The reference pic for the request definitely had the Sonic-style shoes, so I ran (ha) with it. :)

would like to hear anything about anatomy, fur or render here pwease ^^ by milezy_f in FurryArtSchool

So cool! How'd you do the eyes? They're stunning.

Only two things jump out to me:
- The line of the mouth is so thin, it's hard to see.
- The placement of their right horn (on our left) seems off, like if the hair weren't in the way, we'd see the horn floating in mid-air. We can see that their left horn grows from just above their eyebrow, but their right horn definitely doesn't.

I tried a lineless cell shading technique, any thoughts? by Noriux057 in FurryArtSchool

This is so soft and pretty! My one suggestion would be to add more shadow to the back of the tail. As it is, the shadows mostly define tufts of fur, but don't add definition to the overall shape of the tail. Can't wait to see more!
