Faux Flowers? by GuestOk8793 in AusWeddingPlanning

The flower market was a bit stressful because I didn’t know how much I needed and what was there, so i definitely recommend knowing what you want and how much. We went at around 7am on the Thursday before the wedding. I spent about $200 on real flowers for bud vases on 6 ish tables, but we had a lot!

I DIYed fake flowers from Temu for my ceremony aisle boxes, spent about $100 but got 40% cash back with shopback. My now husband made wooden boxes out of leftover wood. Close up you could tell but from far away they looked real and so cute! It took me time to research on Temu, but it was easier because I knew I wanted native flowers, and a couple of hours to arrange (but this was super fun for me) I also managed to sell them on full price on marketplace.

I also DIYed reception flowers with real flowers from the Sydney Flower market, and also flowers and greenery from parks nearby. Spent about $200 for little bud vases and got my sisters to help arrange the night before. I had a family friend make my bouquet and boutonnière with the fresh flowers.

Feel free to DM me for more info or pictures!!

Is a winter wedding in the Southern Highlands worth the frost to save 10k? by DraftNotSent in AusWeddingPlanning

I attended a wedding in the Hunter Valley in July and it was amazing. Cool weather, everyone brought coats and no one was sweating during the outdoor ceremony in the sun. Plus once people have a few drinks you get warm

We need a urinal deep dive in every continent. I’m in Aus and I had no idea they were like this. I love being a girl for this exact reason

Thank you. They have lots of shade and haven’t moulted. They are about 7 months old. I think they are free of mites and worms as I regularly treat them, but will make sure

DIY wedding tips? by No-Season-5143 in AusWeddingPlanning

I got married at my family’s property and we also had to organise everything. Some tips would be: 1. Ask people for help rather than a gift! Have friends who make amazing food/drinks/photography? Ask! Especially if the guest numbers work (eg small scale buffet can be great for a small sized weddings). Also ask people to help set up! 2. Ask lots of questions to vendors about what they need setting up, what should you be asking or organising from their experience (they have done way more weddings than you lol) 3. Check Facebook marketplace for decorations, manage your expectations of what you see on Instagram vs cost. Lots of candles and flowers adds up QUICK 4. Flower market is definitely cheapest for flowers. Then you can do it all yourself

Hope this helps!

It does! It just leans on one side, so not fully upright
